How will the proposed copyright law change what you download?

That's hacking....

I can only respond as I understand. Like the lawmakers advised: if you need to know more, go see a copyright lawyer (what's that tell ya?)


And you think people who distribute files online are not also willing to hack software?

Don't get me wrong, I understand the law as it says, but im saying its dirt useless at best and criminalizing the (relatively) innocent at worst.

If you download a work you think is safe, not bearing any copyright (let alone you may not have wanted to download it, like opening a webpage containing copyrighted work), you can be charged.


Lets look at basic things, the most common one, music.

If you download a song from from a new band, are you liable for a $500 fine? The song doesn't say its copyrighted, anywhere.

If you say "Defacto assume its copyrighten", where does that lrave the many artists who allow their work to be freely distributed?

All of a sudden they can't give their songs away, they are forced to sell them through existing labels (killing the free market)

Its a terrible law.
