Dekhqonbacha, that's too bad... Surely there must be something to make you feel good? Maybe, you just don't value the positive emotions you get from it?
As for me... I guess, success makes me happy, and I mean success in every sense of the word. I really enjoy doing something very well, whatever it is I have to do at the moment. Being on top is my source of happiness. That's the global thing. And as for everyday happy moments, I get them from the Nature, from observing the diversity of this world and the different ways of different people and... well... yes, from smoking (Cortezzz - respect!!) :)

What absolutely calms me is the sound and sight of large waves pounding against rocks. It also makes me happy.
My morning coffee,my morning paper and my back deck make me happy....and set me up for a decent day.
And...playing with my adopted grandchildren makes me most happy. It's seeing the laughing, unfettered joy on a child's face and knowing they are feeling that all is well with the world.

Maybe I overvalue the things. Then nothing is left behind to compare the the top and bottoms to realize what are the achievements.

Anna your words had stuck with me all day. Water is not only my sign but my meditation. I used to spend quite a bit of time at Norfolk beach, until gas prices hiked. But the waves to me are a montra. Its mother Earth breathing. In, out, in, out. and as I breath with the waves and watch the ebb and tide I feel serine with my Goddess and very intuned with the Earth. I miss that oneness. Next month I'll get to experience it again :)

You might enjoy another montra I do. I have an affinity to oaks. Im Arthritic from childhood and when I really hurt or I feel ungrounded I find an oak and sit amongst its roots. I picture my energy connecting with the root system and as I do I feel grounded to Mother Earth. Oak has healing properties also so after Ive done my breathing and consintrated on connecting to Source my pain has subsided :) THAT makes me very happy lol.

Thank you for the visual Im struggling a bit and it really helped today.

I think if you set goals in your life and succeed in them, I believe you can accomplish anything. I also believe the love from your family and the togetherness and the love of friends is what makes me happy in my life as well as being married to my best friend and life long partner is the great internal happiness and my puppies.

Nearly all mankind is more or less unhappy
because nearly all do not know the true Self.
Real happiness abides in Self-knowledge alone.
All else is fleeting.
To know one's Self
is to be blissful always.

it takes so very little to make me happy that I almost feel ashamed to mention it: a good cup of coffee, getting upclose to Nature, and having enough food and clothing. :)

I used to be like that too. I'm kind of searching myself now (end-teen years). I don't know why but the only thing right now that makes me unhappy is not having a girlfriend. I never had one either. And not having a lot of friends around doesn't help. But instead of that, I survive. I've changed a lot since I've moved to go to university. But rather than that, I try to smile and be nice to everyone I see, and if they smile back, it makes my day. It's so fun to see someone smile happily to you. I know this is weird, I enjoy looking at clouds. They're never ugly. Those are the two things that make my day. Oh yeah choooocolate is good too :p

I'm happy when totally focused on what I am doing, everything else at that point falls away. Nothing beats art for absorbing my concentration, I get in the ZONE. The zone is better than crack.

Dear Vereya,I am aware that Happines , Love , Modesty are Absolute spiritual entities and therfore can not be a product of "'emotions"" ,"feelings", these are only a thought.Let me explain . Have you ever bin truly happy but the moment you thought how "happy" you were ,the "happines" has somehow "disappeared ".Can one try to be humble?..obviously a humble person doesn't know (think) he is humble ,he doesn't know the word "humble". What about Love ,can you be conscious of Love/ing ? If you are, then these are only feelings which request something in return (and pretend that they don,'t but hope they"will" .Now that we got this far ,can You tell me what is meditaton ? If you will try to explain to me what It is ,then surely , you have never been There . You say...you love the the Nature" , then try to stay there (Nature) for a while and observe ,just observe ,don't judge ,don't accept, don't reject anything...just observe "what is"and you will learn . That's all .
Thanks,China

Playing Bingo... And Winning!

I find happiness everywhere I can, as it only mulitiplies, its everywhere! Every little thing you accept as a gift to your soul will teach you the value of life. Seeking the company of Your Self.

favourites: Sitting on a boulder beneath an ancient tree by the waterside is absolute heaven. Listening to the trees whispering to one another, and simply feeling the vibrations of my surroundings.

If i can't do that, I eat chocolate, write, dance, laugh with my family and friends.

Every day is an adventure.... new moments to find beauty, kindness, humour.

Dear China, I quite agree with you. these are indeed absolute spiritual entities. But what I have to say is that they reveal themselves to us by means of what we call emotions or feelings. Very few people and in very particular circumstances can logically and rationally understand these concepts. And as they are a part of every person's life, everyone has to understand what they are about, at least vaguely. So that is what we have feelings for - to acquire intuitive understanding of something we cannot understand with our brains.

Have you ever bin truly happy but the moment you thought how "happy" you were ,the "happines" has somehow "disappeared ".
No! I am a very determined kind of person. If I find myself happy, I am determined that this condition lasts for as long as possible! :)

I wrote about Nature for one reason - since I became Pagan, I discovered that I have a bond with Nature that I never noticed before. When I am walking in the forest, or when I sit watching a river, I really feel that I am an inseparable part of the world around me and that everything that I see around is a part of me as well. I can't really explain it, but it brings me that wonderful feeling of belonging and contentment.

HI Vereya ,The entity is something seperate ,something that exists on its own ,something that is not of ones self.It has nothing to do whatsoever with our feelings and/or emotions which are nothing else but a response of our memory .Ther is nothing new in our memory, everyting in our memory ( in our every brain cell) is a past ,therfore ..dead ,we are past. Will the Truth ,Love , Happines ,reveal the Self with something that is dead? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
No! I am a very determined kind of person. If I find myself happy, I am determined that this condition lasts for as long as possible!

If you are "determined that the 'condition' last ,then you are thinking ,controling It ,and its not happines but your own pride of "achivement"._____________________________

Do we have to call ourselfs a Pagan,a Christian,Republican ,Democrat ,Liberal and so on. Why not just..........me!I I guess most people must identify themselfs with other people who "support " their belive so they can feel stronger re. their own convictions.(I am not implying that you are weak ,Vereya ) Anyhow ,I unerstand very well what you are saying about being one with the Nature .Guess what ?,I agree with You and I,m not even a Pagan.
Waiting for your response ,Thank You ,China

You know, I can't quite agree with you on this point. Our past is not dead. Life would've been much easier and much more pleasant, were it so. What is our past? It is the choices, that we have made some time ago, it is the situations that we have encountered in our lives, it is the thoughts and principles that we had at a certain period, it is the steps we have taken. All this doesn't just fade away. Life is not a collection of episodes, it is a continuous process, and everything in life is connected. What you used to think, for instance, two years ago, was what determined your behavior at that time. And what you did two years ago, in great way predetermined what you are right now, and where you are. Likewise, what you do, or think, or say right now will determine where you will be and what you will be in another two years' time. So, the past, the present, and the future are not separate from each other. They are blended together, thus creating the stuff your life's made of.

If you are "determined that the 'condition' last ,then you are thinking ,controling It ,and its not happines but your own pride of "achivement".
China, do you believe in controlling your feelings, including the feeling of happiness? Do you think that a controlled emotion is just as genuine and just as strong as an uncontrolled one, only it is controlled by you?

Do we have to call ourselfs a Pagan,a Christian,Republican ,Democrat ,Liberal and so on. Why not just..........me!I I guess most people must identify themselfs with other people who "support " their belive so they can feel stronger.
Well, this is going to be difficult to explain. Are you familiar with the notion of "egregor"? That is the answer to your question why do people need to identify themselves with other people. You can be just you within any egregor that you choose, but you cannot stay outside of an egregor, because the world is made up of them. And the stronger is your connection with your egregor, the stronger is the feedback it gives to you, and the better off you are in life! That is why people proclaim themselves to be a part of some religious or social group. The thing is, that most do it blindly, not realizing the way this mechanism works.

Well, so much for this :)
I will be waiting for your response, too, China!
