People in Western Canada won't get much of a reprieve from the deep freeze that has gripped the region, with wind-chill warnings in effect for some areas.
CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe said wind-chill temperatures are averaging -30 C, 10 to 20 degrees below normal for this time of year.
Although the temperatures will increase slightly Tuesday and Wednesday, they are expected to drop again by Thursday, she said.
In Vancouver and Victoria, wind-chill temperatures will hover around -11 C in Vancouver and - 8 C in Victoria.
Environment Canada has issued a warning of extreme wind-chill conditions of - 35 C to - 40 C for Yoho Park and Elk Valley, B.C.'s eastern region.
