Yay Canucks. Minnesota has won 7 in a row. They don't want to die.

No, they sure don't. Minnesota is breathing down our necks. I still feel uneasy about actually
winning our division, cause I have so much respect for Minnesota, but for every game we win,
it makes it a "little" harder for them to catch us. 3 pts. isn't much, but at least it's us ahead
right now and not them.

update: They are only 1 pt. behind us now, but we have a game in hand.

Played great first period, not so good 2nd and 3rd, and it was obvious that Colorado wanted and needed this win desperately, so they came away with the win in a S/O, and we came away with
one point.

Joe Sakic is a great player, having a great season, scored two goals tonight, and is trying to lead his
team into the playoffs.

They are now 5 points behind Calgary, and they play each other twice before the end of the season.

We are now tied with Minnesota, although we have a game in hand.

Calgary goes to Minnesota twice next week, so those two games are extremely important to Colorado
and Canucks.

We play in Colorado on Tuesday, then in L.A. on Thursday, and back home against Calgary on Sat.

We can relax about the playoffs now, as we are officially IN. Canucks defeated Colorado tonight, and
looked very good doing it.
Much better performance than the other night. We had Salo back, and defence played great.
Luongo played great too, and the whole team looked solid

Luongo has waited about 6 years to make playoffs, now he is there, lets see how far they can go.

Calgary beat Minnesota in S/O, so Colorado has slipped further behind them, (too bad), I was
hoping they would play their way into that 8th spot, (for Joe Sakic, as he is playing so well.)

If and when L.A. get themselves a number one really good goalie, we all better watch out for them, (next year),
cause they have quite a group of young talented players, and will be getting more, with all of their
draft picks they have now, as a result of trades.

We had a struggle last night in first period, but managed to score a goal, then our game improved
as the game went along, and we won 4-2

We are still missing Salo and Ohlund, Salo is out again with aggravated groin, and Ohlund is healing
from a bad gash on his elbow, that they were being very careful with, to avoid infection.

We play Calgary Saturday, late CBC game, and they are playing very good now, so this game will be
a huge test just before going into playoffs. Iginla had a hatrick last night against Minnesota, so
that gave them a victory. They won both their games with Minnesota this week, which surprised me,
but I see that Calgary and Kiprisoff have improved lots over the last five games, so we will have
watch out for them now.

Until we get all of our defence back, we will be vulnerable in that area, as those two guys are our
two top D men.

We are 3 points up on Minnesota, and still in first place in our division.

I was really impressed with Jack Johnson. He sure took a hip check though.

Yeah Jack Johnson is going to be a good one. And, wouldn't ya know who did it, Bulis, who has been playing really
good recently, but definitely does have a different thought process.
It was a great body check, got them all mad, and Bulis won't fight with anyone, he was just laughing
about it.

Did you see the game where Bulis climbed right on the back of the opposition and was riding along
with him for a couple of strides, have never seen a move like that in hockey before.

My husband quietly mumbled something about Brokeback Hockey.

No I didn't see it. I assume he got a holding penalty.

That was probably the best hip check we've seen in years. There is such a narrow margin these days. A perfectly legal hip check is often called tripping or something. Referees should have to play hockey for a couple years so they know what's going on.

Yeah, the one last night was a good legal hip check, just above the tripping area, lucky for Bulis,
he actually seemed to know what he was doing. The refs saw that one.

The one they didn't see, was the one I was referring to about a week ago, when Bulis rode on the
others player's back for a couple of strides, should have been a penalty, refs probably pretended they
didn't see it, as there is no name for the move Bulis made. lol

Lost to Calgary tonight, allowed 3 early goals, definitely some defensive mistakes, but all in all we
played a pretty good game, and really took it to them in the last period, just couldn't manage to tie
it, for the single point and some overtime.

score was 3-2

Minnesota lost toColorado today, so now they have Calgary right behind them, and breathing down
their necks, but Calgary have tougher schedule than Minnesota, so, we'll see what happens there.

Los Angeles comes here on Tuesday.

4 games left.

This is getting really tense, but at least other teams have to catch 'us'. We haven't clinched yet, two
more wins should do it, I hope.

whew!!!!, very tense, and now it's one more win, and "you know what" , don't want to say it, will
jinx them. 4-2 win.

Very good game, as I said before, L.A., has a great group of young players, and even without some
of their top D men, they gave us a good fight.

Everyone played good, a solid effort, Luongo played well, made a key save near the end, to keep it
at 3-2, had a goal called back, Sedin made kicking motion, so goal was disallowed. Good call.

Sedin's were awsome as usual, puck sticking to their sticks again, and they found each other all the
time, with eyes in the back of their heads.

Linden had a good game, along with Bulis and Cooke, and Smolinski had his best game as a canuck.

Next one on Thursday against Colorado
Calgary lost tonight to Colorado, so they are still alive, but need everything to go their way, it will
be very difficult.
Toronto and Montreal both won, so nothing was gained or lost by either one, but Carolina lost,
so they are out now. Both finalists from last year missed playoffs this year, very rare.

Islanders won in shootout, to keep their hopes alive.

3 games left.

Canucks didn't have it tonight, but I'm not at all surprised, as I totally expected Avalanche to come
in to our rink determined to win, as there would have been no tomorrow for them with a loss, and
even with the win, they probably won't make playoffs, as Calgary plays Edmonton next, and if they
lose to them, I will eat my shirt.

We play San Jose Saturday afternoon, then Phoenix Sunday afternoon, and that's it folks, season over.
One more win for us and we will win the division, but we haven't done it yet, so until we do, it's not
done.(no kidding)

It's too bad Avalanche waited so long to start playing well, because they are now one of the top teams
in the conference, and they will miss playoffs, it's almost certain now, cause Calgary has to lose all
of their remaining games, and that could very well happen, if they weren't playing Edmonton.

Congratulations to the Vancouver Canucks, they beat San Jose Sharks in overtime 4-3 to capture the
North West Division Title.
They did it in first class form, played a great game, went up 2-0 early in the game.

Keven Bieksa played a great game along with Matt Cooke, and the twins had a good game too, along
with others.
Luongo played his usual, which is great, and he, not only is in playoffs for the first time, but they
have won their division, so I'm sure he is thrilled and ready to go on to bigger and better things now.

We will meet Dallas Stars in the first round of playoffs.

Now we can watch Montreal and Toronto battle it out for the 8th playoff spot, and it is possible they
both will be out, as Islanders won today, and now they are also battling for that spot, as they have
another game tomorrow.

GO CANUCKS GO

update: Toronto defeated Montreal, so now Islanders will have to win their game tomorrow to knock Toronto out of playoffs, I will have my fingers crossed.

yawn,(very sleepy, 4th overtime period,) it's finally over, and Canucks did manag0e to win it after 7 periods, game shifted a
couple of times, we played just fine for two periods, pretty even game, until we were 2 goals up on
the Stars, then they rose their play considerably, as it seemed they just weren't going to accept
defeat, so then we were outplayed right through until the end of the first overtime period. Then the
game began to level off again for awhile, and in the 6th and 7th periods the Canucks began to take
the play to them a little more, both teams were very tired, but the Sedin's did it, with Ohlund getting
second assist.
It's hard to watch a game that long, I began to lose my intensity, but it soon returned when I saw that
Canucks were gaining momentum and looking stronger, and it wasn't long after that when the winning
goal was scored.
We were outshot by quite a bit, but all in all there weren't any point blank shots, such as break aways,or bad defensive breakdowns, Luongo and Turco made some key saves, both played well, they had more scoring chances than we did, but our defensive play, and our perseverance, with no quit, finally payed off.
It's too bad we couldn't hang on to that 4-2 lead earlier in the game, but who care now, we won.
The team that loses a game like this, plays all that time for 'nothing', what a let down that must be.
Matt Cooke injured, and Alex Burrows injured, no report on them yet, and I wonder about Ryan Kesler,
as he took hard slash to hand, fingers were bleeding, but he played rest of the game.
Next game is Friday at 6:00
Ottawa defeated Pittsburg, Anaheim defeated Minnesota, San Jose defeated Nashville

Well, two blatant errors caused two goals tonight, and that's all there was. First minute into the
game, and 1st minute into 2nd period. We were outplayed most of first period, then played very
well rest of the game, and outplayed Dallas in the last period, but couldn't score, Turco played
very well, and I imagine he was first star.,
Naslund played great and the new guy from Manitoba, Yanick Hanson, was very impressive,
hope he stays. We are still missing too many players, it will be difficult without them. Next\
game is Sunday in Dallas. We are playing on the ice in Dallas 6 hours after finish of basketball
game, so you can imagine what the quality of the ice will be.
We have a 1-1 split now.
