Just finished watching the Habs win 4 - 1 over TB tonight.........they are hot.......2 wins on the road ......big confidence booster for the team and coaches. Wasn't quite as exciting as the first game but watching Carey is worth the time alone....... almost, almost got a shut-out. Back home now and a further boost from the hometown crowd.

Rock on Montreal!

yeah, we just watched their game too, nice to go home up by two, i will follow them for the east as far
as they go.

also watched boston/detroit, goalie battle, and datsyuk showed all of them what a super star looks like with
3 minutes left in the game to score the winner, and the only goal of the game.
a very classy move to drag the puck from behind him on the fly and carry it all the way, then screen
himself behind a crowd, then shoot the puck thru campbell's legs to fool rask, great play.

Be careful what you wish for! -:)

i would like to see them hire the new g.m. then carefully choose a new coach, and then it will be
a patient retooling of the team, and as trevor said, using both good defense and offense, and play
the right way, using all of the lines.
it isn't going to be instant, as there will be more player changes as well, but as long as they keep
some of the core, to ground the team, and add lots of speed and youth, they can mould the team into
a team that can compete with the new look we are seeing in the league now.

if they hire j. feaster, then torterella will stay, but not sure linden will fit into their style.

i am certainly not expecting a new coach to come in and take them to the stanley cup finals, that
would be unrealistic, but i would be expecting a new coach to settle the team down, and get them
back on track so they are again competetive.

injuries are not an excuse, just research pittsburg and detroit this last season, more injuries than
canucks, but the coaches used the team intelligently and kept them competetive and they held their
own, and both made the playoffs, and many of their players were 'top' end, not just 4th liners, and
they still found a way.
but who knows, aquillinis might not want to pay out another employee,
as they allready will have to pay gillis for 4 more years and if
torterella goes, same, although if they 'buy' him out, it will cost
them less.

Philly socked it to the Broadway Blues today by a score of 4-2. They played with much more intensity than their first game in this series. Goalie Ray Emery played a brilliant game through his positioning as he cut off the best angles for the Blues SOG's. What I esp did not like about the match was the "embellishment" calls made by the refs. Twice a Ranger got socked and the ref thought the victim was playacting when the replay clearly showed they got creamed. The League better look into this type of call as it can have a bad impact on this and other series.

i didn't see that game today, it was on at 9am our time, then another at noon, another at 4 and another
at 7, which i am now watching, l.a./san jose, the one i'm most interested in today.

yeah the officials shouldn't become part of the game, that starts to interfere with fairness, there have
been lots of 'non' calls as well, much more nastiness is let go in the playoffs.

i was happy to see montreal win their third.

The Habs just made swift work of Tampa Bay! Just 12 more games!

tampa bay did tie up the game in the 3rd period, made the habs work for this win.

congrats to montreal.

keep it going, we're cheering for you.

hope san jose keeps it going too, i predicted them to come out on top way back at the beginning of the
season, now i'm right with them all thru this playoff series.

all of the playoffs this year are amazing, fast fast hockey, very intense play.

bruins just scored in the empty net, so they will go ahead 2 games to 1 against detroit. they just look
far too deep for detroit.

Good to see the Rangers have a convincing win today vs Philly by a score of 4-1. I was in a chat room with a number of Blues fans and we all agreed that the refs were too easy on the Flyers. But in all honesty, the Blues got more fired up because of those bad calls. Hopefully they will keep their momentum going.

i hope so too, i'm hoping for rangers over philly, have a soft spot for vineault, our old coach.
but i would be hoping for them even without vineault, never have been a flyers fan, starts with
bobby clark, from away back.

Thought the Habs played much better overall in the series than TB. Mind you, I also wondered how many times Steve Y thought about Mighty Mouse and what he might have contributed to the team since Steven Stamkos was never 100%. Nothing wrong with Stevie's arm though as that punch to the mouth of the Montreal player in the last game was a doozy. LOL!

I don't think my Pens are going to make it through the first round........from what I've seen Columbus is playing way better than they are in just about every category.

i agree that columbus is the better team, and i hope they do win the series, but the way both of
these teams blow a lead and give away the games, can't predict anything.

crosby and malkin have done nothing to make their case, but doesn't mean they, or even one of them won't wake up next game, and
fleury must be giving them fits about now, looks like his old habits are creeping in.

What's truly funny about the Columbus-Pittsburgh series is to hear the announcers voices rise every time Crosby goes near the puck as mentioned he's doing damned little.

yeah, it takes the media eons to make adjustments to how games are being played, and what 'other' players
deserve mention, other then the 'stars', i am impressed with many players in the playoffs this season,
and its fun to see who is making their mark, and what we can look forward to in the future.

the san jose/l.a. game tonight is going to be 'intense', hope they all skate off at the end of the
game' healthy.'
and i hope san jose finish them off tonight.

When Marc-Andre left the net to play with the puck and as a result gave Columbus the goal...........talloola, my dog jumped, I screamed so loud.........get back in the gd net Fleury..........you,you.....(bad words). He was jumpy and twitchy all game. You are right about the 'stars' they can't buy a goal........they do their share of trying but they need to score........it might do wonders for the team. Just heard on TSN that there will be numerous trades after this season is over and that Sid and Evgeni will be about the only two players left standing. Don't quite know what to think about that considering that many of those on the trade block are the only ones keeping this team alive so far.

I think it is time to talk about coaching changes for the team.

Yeah, it is a hoot, bill. Almost as if the louder they shout the better the chance the Kid can score. LOL! Not working out so far though.

I also like the Rangers as they have Mighty Mouse on their team.

i wouldn't pay much attention to the media talking about all the players who will be traded, because
they really don't have a clue, and no one on the team would be talking to any media about such things
right now, they are too busy trying to win these games.

i always liked their coach, he made the team so much better than the last one, who i know crosby
didn't like at all and gave him many dirty looks on the bench.

i'm wondering about crosby, he seems so 'dull' in this series, doesn't seem to have that 'wow' factor
everytime he makes a rush up the ice, wondering if something is wrong with him.
malkin doesn't surprise me, he is a wonderful puck handler and player, but it seems the 'other' side
of the game is an area he really doesn't want much to do with.
they even put him on the wing, then he had to block a shot, wonder if he has ever done that before. lol

i like some of their other players too, but i'm not a letang fan, he needs to be better deep in his own
end, 'stopping' the other team.

i know fleury looked dumb last night on those two goals, but all in all
he has played pretty well in the series.

crosby and malkin have to start chipping in.

Gotta say the Getzlaf brothers are having a pretty good year.........after Chris helped win the Grey Cup for his team, I am quite sure he is pulling for Ryan to win the Stanley for the Ducks. Rock on Ryan.........what a great night he had on Friday!
