I think Minnesota deserved the win, Canucks should have had them put away while they had the momentum in the early going. Basically a very close well played game. Just need another goal or two from the "big guns". Luongo can only stop so many!

I think my computer is picking up an echo!

are you posting from switzerland, maybe its those darn high mountains. lol

harding has been playing 'lights out' for a while now, their regular goalie can't get back in the
nets, and yes, there was so many shots sent his way, one would think a couple more would have gone
past him, but that has been his game of late, and the remarkable thing about him is that he was
diagnosed with M S last year, got on medications, got his game going again, and he is stopping
everything.

i'm sure i heard kreskin coming down the hall, he did say something, i
heard him, guess he tried the door and it was locked. lol
i'm sure luongo's ears are burning.

Did you like the look on Tortorella's face when the second goal went in? :)

That was the look of 'after all the bloody saves the guy at the other end made we give up that!? Blimey!'

I'm just reportin'. :)

When Tort is being interviewed he seems such an intelligent, philosophical, thinking man, while on the bench, you get the idea he's going to kill somebody. A real Dr. Jekle and Mr. Hyde.

yeah i saw that look, and i also heard his interview after the shoot out, as he is very critical of the
teams attempts to 'score' in the shoot out.

luongo has done very well in that format, while the team 'sucks'.

Gødd@mmit sh!tterings!!

Rangers lose to Penguins in OT shootout. Am þ¶§§ed beyond all hope of human redemption as this was a game they could have and should have won. Pitt has a lot of AHL players on the squad and the Rangers still played like a bunch of prissies all night long.

Welcome to the world of Alain Vignault, Gopher. Once the Ranger players figure out amongst themselves what's going wrong everything will surely improve.

Rangers are just too unaggressive, always allowing the opponents to take the damn puck into their zone. If they would just learn to check and pounce on their opponents they would control the puck, the flow of the game, and win.

i watched the game, actually thought it was an exciting closely played game, and pittsburgh, without
their usual players have been playing very well.

seems both goalies were very sharp.

we had a choice of watching the ottawa game, but it wasn't very exciting at all, so we switched to the
new york game, which was very enjoyable.

don't have a dog in the race, so watched from a neutral position.

rangers tied it up near the end, forcing overtime, which turned into a shoot out, and again both goalies
were sharp until lundquist left the 5 hole open too long, and in went the puck.

thats about as simple as it gets.

sure pittsburgh was missing all of those players, but they have been playing just as good in all of
their games, not just this one, give them credit, they are sucking it up without their regulars and
getting it done, they aren't any easier to play against at all, for any team.

rangers could have just as easily won this game.
seems that winning goal was the 'only' goal scored in the shootout, if
i'm remembering correctly.

I know the pain of watching a Vignault team. Yes very soft on the defensive-zone blueline.

yep, and pittsburg have the same problem, have all year, and last year,so it made the game very even, with
two goalies playing their guts out, even when pittsburgh have their full defensive lineup, they are
still full of holes on the blueline.

Sh*t happens, Bill, in the best of regulated circumstances.
That's why the Canucks have to keep the puck away from that sad sack of sh!t excuse of a goalie-it worked for the first half of the second period.

Of course as soon as the puck got near him he let in two more soft goals thus putting his team in the toilet and that's all she wrote for tonight's game.

yeah, luongo didn't have his best night tonight, but it is a lot of pressure on a goalie knowing that
he can't let anything in, cause his team can't score anything.
i like luongo, don't have any desire to call him names, just as i won't call the rest of the team
names cause they can't score enough goals, they won 7 in a row, luongo played well through those
games, now that they have had a couple of stumbles, it isn't the end of the world.

dallas's goalie had a very good night, BUT he hasn't been stellar at all, he has struggled this year,
a good game, a bad game, and tonight we saw a good one.

if canucks could score at least 3 goals per game, they would probably win most of them, but that is
a big task this year, and last.

tomorrows game probably was going to be 'lack's', so i'm assuming he will still play against chicago.

too bad hanson didn't score on what looked like a sure goal, would have tied the game, and that
could have changed the whole game from then on, but just abouts don't count.

losses definitely create some to pout and whine, but the team isn't
going to win em all, or lose em all, suck it up, tomorrows another day
another game, and the dissapointment is on the players, we are just
bystanders, don't contribute anything, and shouldn't think we are so
arrogant that we can 'crap' all over a player because he didn't have
a good game.
its not about US its about THEM, the one's who put all of their blood
sweat and tears into the game, we just watch.

canucks look to bounce back vs. BlackhawksFriday, 12.20.2013 / 12:07 AMJohn Kreiser - NHL.com Columnist

CANUCKS (20-11-6) at BLACKHAWKS (25-7-5)

TV: NHLN-US, TSN, RDS2, CSN-CH

Last 10: Vancouver 7-2-1; Chicago 6-3-1

Season series: The Vancouver Canucks are making make their only visit of the season to United Center. They'll be looking to avenge a 2-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks at Rogers Arena on Nov. 23.

Big story: The Canucks face a tough second half of a back-to-back when they come to Chicago to visit the well-rested Blackhawks, who've been off since beating the Nashville Predators 3-1 on Tuesday. It's the Canucks' third game in four nights on a quick trip through the Midwest.

Team Scope:

Canucks: Expect coach John Tortorella to emphasize to his team the need to be ready from the opening faceoff. That wasn't the case Thursday night against the Dallas Stars, who scored twice in 15 seconds before the game was five minutes old and never looked back on the way to a 4-1 victory.

Chris Higgins scored a first-period goal, but that was the only one of the Canucks' 27 shots to beat Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen.

Still, Tortorella wasn't too upset after seeing his team fail to get a point for the first time this month.

"It's our first game we haven't got a point in, I think, nine or 10 games," he said. "We need to move by it and not overthink this and get ready to play our next game."

Blackhawks: After 19 games in 34 days, culminating with the victory at Nashville on Tuesday, the Blackhawks have spent the past two days taking it easy.

The defending Stanley Cup champs approach the Christmas break with a League-leading 55 points and went 13-5-1 during their 19-game grind.

"It's been a great season so far. We're having fun," captain Jonathan Toews told the media Thursday at the team's annual holiday skate. "I think it's nice to enjoy moments like this because we have been playing so many games and working really hard to get to where we are. We got to take a few moments to catch your breath and spend some time with family, especially this time of year."

The Blackhawks have the weekend off before hosting the New Jersey Devils on Monday, prior to the three-day break.

Who's hot: Higgins had Vancouver's lone goal in Dallas and has scored in three of his past four games. … Chicago's Patrick Kane has five goals and 13 assists during a 10-game point streak. Patrick Sharp has seven points in the past five games.

Injury report: Vancouver defenseman Ryan Stanton injured his ankle Tuesday and has returned home. Defenseman Alexander Edler (lower body) and forward Alexandre Burrows (broken jaw) are out. … Chicago is missing its top two goaltenders; Corey Crawford and Nikolai Khabibulin

-------------------------------------------------------------

i 'think' luongo is going to start tonight, so hopefully for him he can
bounce back from a couple of so-so games, AND the team can also bounce
back from a 'can't score game' and maybe together they can come away
from chicago with a win over the hawks.

UPDATE; now they are saying on the radio that eddy lack will probably
start, so that is two different probablys i have heard, just have to
wait a bit longer to know for sure.

UPDATE TO UPDATE; LACK IS PLAYING

well it did turn into a pretty good game after canucks got themselves going.

don't know what torterella was doing putting the sedins in the shoot out again, thought he would
have learned the first time, that it is a waste of time.

lack did well, played solid right thru to the end of the shoot out.

so now they have redeemed themselves on this road trip, don't have to go home hanging their heads.
