Maybe time for a bit of a rule change. When an A$$hole like Duncan Keith takes out a star player, then that team should get to select a Chicago player of their choice to play for them until the injured player returns, of course he'd have a conflict between loyalty to his own team and playing his best in hopes of getting a Stanley Cup under his belt.

All this complaining about Luongo is nonsense. There isn't a team in the NHL who would expect to wiin when they score one or two goals. The Canucks are missing a big part of their best line. The Canucks got themselves into first place overall with that line and they need that line back together to go anywhere in the playoffs.

Yep, we have a classic case here where the total (Hank, Daniel and Burrows) is much greater than the sum of the individual parts.

Nonsense. It's not nonsense. Its very enjoyable watching Canuck fans turn on their team and their individual players when they lose. Something us Leaf fans haven't had to do in a long time due to our vast expertise in our team losing.

LA made the playoffs scoring next to nothing with Quick stealing most of their wins in the first 2/3's of the season. If there was ever a time a Canuck needed to steal one it's now. Does anyone think Luongo is capable of that?

"Fans" can be a fickle bunch. However without Daniel I do think their chance of a Cup is greatly diminished. On the bright side, Pittsburgh is in "the same boat" right now.

What the Canucks have to do is score some goals. Luongo can't steal any games if the rest of the team doesn't get off their collective asses and score some frigging goals. The Canucks might have a chance of making a come back if Daniel returns to reignite that first line scoring threat. Otherwise, the Canucks just might be "swept".

Same thing had it have been Hank.

That is true but if you check the # of shots on goal last night, it certainly wasn't for lack of trying!

Generally speaking, Daniel scored most of the goals and Hank got the assist on most of them. I wonder if there is any chance Daniel will be back this year. Right now it doesn't look good without him.

I'm beginning to doubt it, if they don't win the Cup this year, sensible fans will understand, if Daniel were to be brought back early in a desperate attempt........................well nobody with an ounce of integrity or sanity would try it.

A good analogy for Hank and Daniel would be a cup of coffee..............with one ingredient missing you don't get a very good cup!

I'm hoping that Brian Burke is desparate enough to acquire Luongo this summer.

this I can definitely agree with, score some frigging goals, thats not too much to ask, and stop
allowing goals when you have a power play, not only is the power play not scoring, it is giving
up goals, unacceptable.
yes, danny coming back would give the team better balance, but it is not something to dwell on,
this team has been a very deep team, and has in the past, and should right now be able to hold
the fort while any player is gone.

I am not trashing luongo, that is far too easy, and takes all of the ineptitude of the rest of the
team away, and he is just an excuse for others right now because of his past problems.

this is now, and luongo was not the problem in these two games, and if he was I would be the first
to say as much.

Edler has definitely got some problems, he has got to get his head together.

Don't forget everyone, when danny was playing, that first line was struggling for a long time, had
a couple of decent games recently, but that line will not be the savior of the canucks right now,
they have other problems as well, but of course when he comes back, that will help.

The team should be able to at least score 3 goals in a game, and only allow 1 or 2.

Don't forget, the Canucks play against teams that have goaltenders. It's more difficult to score when someone makes the save.

One thing Canucks fans have to resign themselves to is that Daniel is not coming back until at least the end of the LA Kings series. The Canucks are two games away from being knocked out in the first round. If Vinault has any magic line combinations, now is the time to bring them out.
