I'm happy with the score but a few of the penalty calls were really a stretch. That first holding penalty against Vancouver' Edler was a joke.
The ref probably figured Chicago needed a little humouring.:lol:

5 - 0 at the end of the second period and the Canucks are solid. As with the Habs, the Blackhawks are looking tired, I think. They certainly don't appear to be as sharp as the Canucks.
I would venture to say that Vancouver is going to take this game.
This is just what I had in mind the other day when I said watching hockey should be relaxing................:lol: Canucks in 5.
Great way to start, but it's one game. We'll see a different Hawks team on Monday. Should be a wild game, and could be a long series.
no reason for hawks to be tired they have had 5 days off
I think they were a lot more tired at the end of the game than they were at the start. I thought the Canucks were a technically sounder team than the Hawks. The Blackhawks seemed surprised that the Canucks were as strong as they were. There were a few times times when the Canucks were short handed and they were applying pressure on Chicago in their end.
Yes we're getting our money's worth!....We'll see a different Hawks team on Monday. Should be a wild game, and could be a long series.
The Hawks were quite full of themselves and Vancouver can use that plus I think Quenville was outcoached......The Blackhawks seemed surprised that the Canucks were as strong as they were. I enjoyed reading the Chicago online newspapers after the game. They are using words/phrases like 'Hawks Routed in Game #1' and describing the Canucks as a scary lot and NOT the Predators. One columnist said they need to get their act together asap if they don't want to be swept.
The Hawks are quite capable of bouncing back and winning the series. For now it's fun to see the Canucks getting a ton of respect and considered an elite team by those out east.
You would venture right. The game ended 5 - 1 for the Canucks...;-)

Yeah I'm sure the series will be a long one, BUT maybe not,
who knows, but you don't seem to give the canucks much
respect at all, I actually gave the canucks a bit of an
edge before tournament started because of chicago's up
and down play during the season, noticed they did great
for a while, then looked lazy and unorganized, back and
forth, and I really noticed their lack of work ethic,
and thought the canucks could capitalize on that, well
they certainly did last night, now lets see if chicago
learned something.
The canucks are considdered an elite team in the west and east as
well, I listen to all of the talking heads throughout the
season, while they were aware of the injuries on defense,
and what problems that could cause, (and chicago had those
injuries too on their defense),
they felt canucks were very capable, along with some others
of going a long way in playoffs.
You sell the canucks a little short.
They shouldn't have been then, but don't you think they looked sluggish out there compared to the Canucks, or is it just my view?

As I mentioned before, chicago's sluggishness is really
laziness, as they aren't a good working team, but very
talented, when they learn to put the two together consistently, they will go all the way.

Rick I'm not sure if they can bounce back and win this series, The only way they could get a goal was with a two man advantage. Out on a limb here......The Canucks in five or six games. Four games wouldn't surprise me......
