High-speed shootout between cars on Toronto's Gardiner

An exchange of gunfire between passengers in two speeding cars on Toronto's Gardiner Expressway Thursday night has sent a 40-year-old woman to hospital.

The victim, who was in a third car, suffered minor injuries after a stray bullet travelled through her vehicle and bruised her arm.

At least a dozen shell casings were found on the highway, which was closed for several hours.

"The motorist was taken to hospital for precautionary reasons and has been released," Staff Sgt. Rudy Pasini told CBC News.

Police said the gunfire erupted just after 11 p.m. south of the downtown core as two vehicles darted in and out of traffic in an apparent street race.

"The vehicles were in single file, and the lead vehicle was attempting to pass … and in doing so bumped the motorist. Shots were continually being fired and the female motorist was struck with a bullet. The bullet passed through the rear bumper of her vehicle, the back seat and then the driver's seat. The bullet did not have enough velocity to break her skin, but it did cause bruising to her arm," said Pasini.

After the woman was struck, both vehicles fled westbound, one of them with a shattered rear window, police said.

Gotta love how idiots like this love making our country into the Wild West again.

You know, I'd love for once for these idiots to actually shoot and kill one another, rather then always hitting innocent. They shoot up an area, kill a few kids or wound old women in their path of distruction, then disapear.... only to most likely do it again in a few days, because they didn't kill the people they were shooting before.
