"Killer " might do as in Killer Kowalchuck, the former Stampede Wrestler. Mmmm... Perhaps too Calgarian.
Next?

Nope, it can't be "Klondike" as that region of the Yukon is too distant and too silly as a theme to contemplate. That would be like calling it "Kookaburra Days"

K-Days kicks off with a parade - Edmonton - CBC News
The "K" in K-days, their summer exhibition, does not stand for anything. Please help.

Could it be Kanata?

What was wrong with Klondike Days; as it was for nearly 2 decades? So now they don't even like the letter "k"? So call it "E" days, or Edmonton Exhibition, or have a competition city wide to pick a name. Let people vote.

Why do people with no imagination what so ever get involved in these things. Change; just for change sake, when you have no clue what direction you want to take something pretty much guarantees failure.

You've got me thinking, Kapitän. The "K" could be for Kovalchuk. Mind you, Ilya played fot the Devils, not for the Oilers, and now has gone to St. Petersburg.

I'm sure it was because Edmonton was once the gateway to the Klondike, though nowadays I guess you can just fly there direct? Anyway, Klondike is surely as appropriate to Edmonton as Eskimos is. I suppose you want to change that too?

Well, Edmonton is not in the Klondike. You see, following that logic, it could just as easily be called Kyrgyzstan Days.

Edmonton was less of a gateway to the Klondike than Seattle, San Francisco, or Vancouver. And, is not Edmonton the Gateway to the South? Mnnn, Kalgary is south of Edmonton.

Get outa Dodge! You're dodging the most important question in this whole thread... are you calling for the change in the name of their most ineptly named football team?
