I also don't care what politicians would or wouldn't do with the flag. To me it is simply a bit of fabric flopping on a pole. I don't care about it, I care about the country. I am only saying it looks like a liberal flag and it could do with more color.

I'm guessing that the case in the article in the OP probably involves Jehovah's Witnesses or some other sect. You don't find alot of Muslims in Canada's rural districts. But of course this is just my guess and I could be wrong.

Such racist assumptions don't have a place in Canada. Muslims reside in rural parts of Canada as well and love Canada and Candian Anthem. Thankfully Majority of Canadians are tolerant towards other cultures, it is these Nazi types with their racist comments, assumtions, actions, and disinformation that absouletely go against everything Canada and Canadian stand for.

New Canadians coming to this country are asking that the national anthem not be played and the city politicians are granting their requests, years ago a friend who lives in Brampton Ontario was asked by a east Indian to remove his Canadian flag that he has flown for years off his house when he told the person no it is a Canada's national flag. when he came home the next day the Flag was ripped down and laying on the ground and he saw a lot of foot prints on the Canadian flag

I do not know for the rest of Canada,but here in Quebec,its not the immigrants that aske for things like national anthem christmas or crosses to be removed,its jerks who are afraid it will offend the immigrants,even when immigrants said they do not mind those,that its part of the nations culture in which they chose to live.

I never understood the whole No Christmas Tree policy. Not exactly sure how a Christmas Tree is religious.

Is it because Christmas is in the title? We can call it a Yule Tree; that would have the added benefit of bringing its name etymologically closer to its cultural roots.
