This is what happened when Nature pushed life too far.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowball_Earth

SNOWBALL EARTH

Basically killed most life with the exception of only the very very resistant to cold weather, that it's situational, or part of its DNA structure.

If Our environments are so hostile, is it not a mathematical certainty that life will eventually achieve dominance over it over a period of infinity ?

Are they separate or one in the same?

They are the same.

But separating them can be helpful with analyzing the dynamics they share?

Not 100% sure. I'll have to sit and mentally digest the question

All that it takes is an impact with a good sized comet and it's an invertibrate world, again.

Yes, Until we achieve regular space travel, our dominance is, of only over earth and its environment. We definitely have not achieved dominance over this solar system, But the process towards it has started.

Adaptability is the only strength. That is why Darwin's Theory is defunct.

If really you wanted to look at it from a very un-imaginative perspective, Maybe. But why be so closed minded?
You would have to take the time to further explain yourself in more details, Because I'm not sure exactly why you have been stumped to this conclusion.
