Just out of curiosity, I dug a little into our national debt.

The national debt over the past 16 years has been:

Year - Millions
1993 - $448,994
1994 - $487,524
1995 - $524,156
1996 - $554,162
1997 - $562,881
1998 - $559,922
1999 - $554,143
2000 - $539,885
2001 - $519,994
2002 - $511,946
2003 - $505,325
2004 - $496,180
2005 - $494,717
2006 - $481,499
2007 - $467,268
2008 - $457,637

From 1994 to 1997, the Liberals increased the debt by $75.4 billion.

The Liberals were fighting deficits of their own creation and did so to the tune of $65.2 billion, but from 1994 to 2005, increased the federal debt by $7.2 billion

From 1996 to earlier this month the CPC government has reduced the federal debt by $37.1 billion.

If the economy hadn't been given a push down the hill, the gov't most likely would have kept paying off the national debt.

Has anyone looked at how the Dippers would be faring if they were gov't?

It's hard to get the truth out of the bastards, when they are talking debt quite often they are not counting things like capital projects where the debt (mortgage) is amortized over many years and then there's a few other sneaky tricks up their sleeves like "we've reduced the debt over the past xx years" (as a percentage of G.D.P.) which is left unsaid.
