The truly astounding component of this situation is the number of people who maintain their belief in the integrity of politicians! How many times do politicians have to be proven to be liars and theives before the true nature of the politician is acknowledged?

We've seen wars based on lies, we've seen multi-million dollar scams based on lies and sexual misconduct, drunken Preimiers, the list is endless and yet there are people still desperately clinging to their notions of honesty and integrity in Canadian and American government.

You can fool some of the people all of the time apparently....
Are you contending we blindly believe the Liberals regarding what they say about the Conservatives because it must be true?

And of course no one would investigate how he got a million dollar insurance payout? Come on, it doesn't pass the laugh test.

I have a 750,000 policy. Who is going to question its payout? Why would anyone have questioned Chuck's widow receiving an insurance settlement he might have been paying into for years? You can bet a million dollar payment from the Conservative party would have raised some eybrows.

Besides, it's all moot now. Mr. Harper has been caught on tape admitting to a "financial consideration" for Mr. Cadman. Mr. Harpers denial just buried him.

For the same reason people are even theorizing about it. Why would it be less public if it did happen than if it didn't?

I promise you, from experience within my family, your policy will be thoroughly investigated before any payout is made.....

My brother died in hospital shortly after brain surgery for a tumor first diagnosed 6 weeks before his operation......his insurance, for a LOT less than $700,000, investigated for 6 months before paying up to his widow.......

Would there be an investigation about a 1 million dollar payout? Oh yeah.

Insurance companies LOVE to collect premiums, they HATE to pay benefits.

To quote my own insurance agent, "if there's no cost to us, you can buy a policy for your dying goldfish".

If an insurance policy is sold for a known to be dying man (Yes. It can be done) the payout amount and an "administration fee" would have to be paid up front to the issuing company. When it comes time to pay out on the policy there is not cost to the insurer and no issues to prevent payout.

As I said previously, the policy pays under the name of the insurer, not the Conservative party.
