I love Autumn.

Falling leaves...changing colours...cool breezes...days of golden Sunshine...brisk evening air...

There's the smell of 'Opportunity' and 'New Beginnings' in this delightful season.

Fall is pretty in the midwest of the US. Lots of maple trees, oaks , hickory and walnut trees with the leaves changing colors. The maples are the prettiest. Then you have the evergreens. A few pines but mostly cedar trees.

When I lived in the Ozarks I did like taking drives on the backroads and looking at all the colors especially down by the river. Trees are a little different along the riverside for some reason. Autumn is a pretty season but Spring is my favorite.

It is indeed. Raining again this AM. Must be tough being one of the greenies that predicted a long drought this year. Then again they must be used to being wrong by now.

Hundreds of druids and pagans descend on Stonehenge to celebrate the Equinox which marks the official start of autumn

Hundreds of druids and pagans descended on Stonehenge yesterday to celebrate the equinox as autumn began.

Visitors headed to the famous 5,000-year-old site in Wiltshire in the dark to ensure they got to see the sun rise.

And they made the most of one of only four public annual events that allows people to get so close to the stones.

Photographs showed attendees singing and wearing a variety of extravagant outfits as onlookers watched on.

Making music: A group known as The Golden Drum sing at Stonehenge in Wiltshire to celebrate the autumn equinox today

Gathering: Hundreds of druids and pagans descended on Stonehenge today to celebrate the equinox as autumn began

In a circle: Visitors headed to the famous 5,000-year-old site in Wiltshire in the dark to ensure they got to see the sun rise

Taking it in: Attendees made the most of one of only four public annual events that allows people to get so close to the stones

Holding hands: Photographs showed attendees singing and wearing a variety of extravagant outfits as onlookers watched on

Open arms: The autumn equinox marks the start of the astronomical season as the night becomes longer than the day

Autumn feel: On the equinox, day and night are nearly equal because the sun appears to rise before its centre is at the horizon

Arriving for the equinox: The autumn equilux is when day and night are exactly equal - and will be on Sunday this year
