How about Jar Jar Kinks?
An inter-galactic swinger’s party with a Star Wars theme is expected to be out of this world.
Swingers are being encouraged to “release their dark side” at a May the Force Party on May 4 in Newcastle, England.
And no, it’s not a trap with plenty of prizes for the best costumes.
The orgy organizers said: “We offer a no-pressure environment for you to explore your sexual fantasies and broaden your horizons in the knowledge that you will be safe and respected by all.”

'No one is ever really gone': 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' trailer released
Mark Daniell
Published:
April 12, 2019
Updated:
April 12, 2019 4:14 PM EDT
CHICAGO — One of the best-kept secrets in the Star Wars universe is finally out of the bag. The first trailer and title for Star Wars: Episode IX was revealed Friday at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago.
The Rise of Skywalker, which comes 42 years after George Lucas’ Star Wars: A New Hope, will wrap up the Skywalker saga with director J.J. Abrams promising fans, “Episode IX will be a conclusion of a story.”
Self-proclaimed superfan Stephen Colbert moderated a panel that included Abrams, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and Episode IX stars Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian), Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca) and newcomer Naomi Ackie (Jannah).
They ably avoided Colbert’s attempts to glean any new information on the film before its title and first teaser trailer were unveiled.
One of the biggest reveals in the new spot is the reemergence of the evil Palpatine, who appeared in the earlier trilogy films and was thought to be dead. His sinister cackle is heard at the end of the trailer and Ian McDiarmid, who plays the Sith Lord, came onstage after it ended and ordered, “Play it again.”
The teaser opens with Rey panting in the desert and, as Kylo Ren’s TIE Fighter approaches, she activates Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber and does an incredible flip. Hamill’s Luke narrates saying, “We’ve passed on all we know. A thousand generations live in you now. But this is your fight.” We hear his voice again just before Palpatine’s laugh, when Luke says, “No one is ever really gone.”
Rey (Daisy Ridley) in STAR WARS: EPISODE IX.
Other highlights from the trailer include Lando and Chewbacca piloting the Millennium Falcon; a glimpse at BB-8’s new droid buddy D-O (he’s like a megaphone on wheels); Poe, Finn and C-3PO piloting an open-air craft through the desert; Kylo Ren slashing his way through a forest; someone putting together Kylo’s broken mask; a downed Death Star and new footage of the late Carrie Fisher’s General Leia Organa.
Abrams said that Fisher’s death in 2016 left a “void.” But he was able to insert her character into Episode IX utilizing unused footage he shot from The Force Awakens.

“We all talked about how to move on… but she’s there,” Abrams said. “Princess Leia lives in this film in a way that’s mind-blowing to me.”
The new instalment, which he co-wrote with Chris Terrio, doesn’t pick up right after the events of 2017’s The Last Jedi. Some time has passed, Abrams said.
“This movie, in addition to being the end of three trilogies, has to work as its own movie,” Abrams said. “It’s about this new generation … and asking the question as they face the greatest evil: Are they ready?”
The Rise of Skywalker, Abrams teased, is about an adventure “the group goes on together.”
(Left to right( Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), BB-8, D-O, Rey (Daisy Ridley), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and Finn (John Boyega) in STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER
Williams, who is reprising Lando Calrissian 36 years after Return of the Jedi, called his Episode IX appearance a career highlight.
“I didn’t expect to be in this little adventure, but I got lucky,” he said. Williams also defended his character against people who think Lando betrayed his pal Han Solo in Empire Strikes Back.
“He was up against Darth Vader,” he exclaimed. “He had to figure something out!”
Ackie, who plays one of the film’s new characters Jannah, was quizzed by Colbert if she is Lando’s daughter in the film to which she replied, “Lando is a charming man, so he could have children all over the galaxy.”
After acknowledging that her character Rey does “some extraordinary things in this movie,” Colbert tried to find out what will happen between Rey and Kylo. “We’ll have to see,” Ridley said evasively.
Elsewhere, Colbert tried to create controversy by asking Isaac if Poe was a better pilot than Han Solo and getting the crowd to sing happy birthday to Ridley.
While The Rise of Skywalker marks the end of the Skywalker saga, Star Wars fans still have much to look forward to. Several shows are in the works at Disney’s upcoming streaming service, including The Mandalorian — set after the events of Return of the Jedi — and a series following the early adventures of Diego Luna’s Rogue One character Cassian Andor.
Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson are also preparing a series of new films.
But Kennedy said that The Rise of Skywalker is the final act of what is essentially three, three-act plays.
“What you’re going to end up seeing you’re going to be so excited with,” she said.
“We cannot wait for you to see what we’re cooking up,” Abrams added.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theatres Dec. 20.

Peter Mayhew, the gentle giant who played Chewbacca in the original Star Wars trilogy, has died.
The British actor passed away on Tuesday at his home in Texas, according to a family statement posted on Twitter. He was 74.
“The family of Peter Mayhew, with deep love and sadness, regrets to share the news that Peter has passed away,” the statement reads. “He left us the evening of April 30, 2019 with his family by his side in his North Texas home.”
Details of his death have not been revealed, but Peter underwent spinal surgery last year, and has battled a series of health issues in the past decade.
He took to Twitter in July, to update fans on his recovery following the operation and to explain his absence from social media.

“Sorry, I’ve been quiet as of late,” he wrote alongside a picture of himself lying in a hospital bed. “I’ve been planning & going through some spinal surgery to improve my mobility.
“It’s been a success & I’ll be spending the upcoming weeks recovering. A big thank you to the doctors, staff, my family & friends that have helped me through this.”
Mayhew pulled out of an appearance at the London Film & Comic Con last summer as a result of the surgery.
Meanwhile, back in 2015 he was hospitalized with pneumonia.
Peter was working as a hospital attendant in London when film producer Charles H. Schneer cast him in Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger and a year later he was on the set of George Lucas’ first Star Wars movie as Han Solo’s wookie co-pilot Chewbacca.
He has written two books, Growing Up Giant and My Favorite Giant.

Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will write the next Star Wars film.
While the title is not yet known, Disney CEO Bob Iger has now confirmed the follow up to J. J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, due out in December, will have Benioff and Weiss behind it.

“We did a deal with David Benioff and Dan Weiss, who are famous for Game of Thrones, and the next movie that we release will be theirs. And we’re not saying anything more about that,” Iger said at the MoffettNathanson Media and Communications Summit in New York, reported CBS News.
Some news outlets have taken this as confirmation that the pair will be directing the feature too. If they do, it will mark their big screen directorial debut. Disney had previously said Rian Johnson, who directed 2017’s The Last Jedi, was working on a new Star Wars film.
Benioff and Weiss, who adapted George R. R. Martin’s famous fantasy novels for the small screen, wrapped on the eighth and final series of Game of Thrones last year, with the six-episode season concluding on Sunday.
The next Star Wars instalment will hit screens in 2022, giving fans a three-year break from the franchise.

Star Wars Fans Divided Over 'Last Jedi'...

Star Wars: The Last Jedi star Daisy Ridley admits the backlash against the film was “fair.”
The actress discussed the lukewarm reception the sci-fi film received from fans, who gave the film a poor audience score on review compilation website Rotten Tomatoes, with USA Today.
“I wasn’t surprised, no. It’s just a different thing,” she told the outlet when asked about the disappointing response. “Everyone’s going to have an opinion now anyway on the internet, but I also think it’s fair.”
Though Ridley understands the high level of expectation for the 2017 instalment of the beloved franchise, she stands behind director Rian Johnson’s vision.
“If people hold something incredibly dear and think they know how it should be and it’s not like that, it’s fair for people to think they were done wrong. It doesn’t mean they were – ultimately, Rian’s a filmmaker and one person can’t dictate how a film is supposed to be – but freedom of expression, sure.”
Ridley is set to reprise the role of Rey in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which hits cinemas in December.

Daisy Ridley had a mini-panic attack during her first day on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens when she realized just how big the movie was.
The actress, who has played Jedi Rey in the most recent Star Wars movies, admits director J.J. Abrams warned her about the pressure of starring in a blockbuster but she had no idea just how great that would be until she turned up on set.

During an episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, which was published earlier this week, she said, “It was pretty horrid. It was really scary. I felt just sick and I didn’t really know anyone yet.
“It takes me a really long time to settle down with people… and there were loads of people there and somebody had an umbrella over me and even that, like, ‘Oh someone’s holding an umbrella over you? OK (sic).’
“I remember thinking, ‘I can’t do it.’ Like, I can’t do this, this is not right.”
Even members of her family felt the pressure of the role when she started shooting: “Even my mum at the premiere of Force Awakens went, ‘I mean I’m nervous but there must be a reason why they cast you.’ Thanks Mum. It still sort of carried on, but I feel more confident now.”
Ridley will return as Rey in the final film of the latest Star Wars trilogy, The Rise of Skywalker, at Christmas.

Obi-Wan Kenobi 'Star Wars' series in the works with Ewan McGregor

Star Wars News Leaks: Obi-Wan Kenobi...

The Force is strong with Ewan McGregor.
The Scottish actor is in talks to reprise his role as Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new Star Wars TV series.
Variety reports the new series will air exclusively on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+, which is set to launch later this year.
McGregor played a younger version of the character, first portrayed by Alec Guinness in 1977’s A New Hope, in the three Star Wars prequels The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. Rumours swirled that McGregor was poised to revive the character in a standalone film to be helmed by Oscar-nominated director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot and The Hours), but those plans were scuppered after last year’s Han Solo spinoff sank at the box office.
“I don’t know anything more about it than you do, I’m afraid,” he told the Sun at a press day for Christopher Robin. “I really don’t. But I’d be up for it. You know that.”
He hasn’t appeared onscreen in any of the newer episodes — The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and this year’s Rise of Skywalker — but he still relishes the opportunity to interact with Star Wars fans.
“Not long ago they did a Star Wars marathon. I’ve never done anything like this, but I was asked to come and I said I’d do it. I wanted to introduce the last one (Revenge of the Sith) and I went down there at 2:30 in the morning and there were people there who’d been watching movies all day. Those are the real Star Wars fans. They were really in their element and I enjoyed it.”
If the Obi-Wan series comes together, it will be the third live-action Star Wars show on Disney+. The streamer has already set Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian as well as a series based on the Rogue One character Cassian Andor, with Diego Luna reprising his role from the film.
McGregor is no stranger to TV. Last year, he won a Golden Globe for his work on the third season of the FX series Fargo.
He’ll be seen later this year as the adult Danny Torrance in The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep and next year’s Harley Quinn spinoff, Birds of Prey.
In an interview with the Sun last year, McGregor’s Star Wars co-star Hayden Christensen said he’d too be up for returning to the franchise as Anakin Skywalker.
“Absolutely. I would go back in a heartbeat if it made sense. I kind of feel that (Anakin’s) storyline was fully told, but you never know. They’re going to be making a lot of these movies and you never know.”
In addition to new Star Wars shows, Disney+ is expanding characters from its popular Marvel Cinematic Universe, with new series revolving around characters including Hawkeye, Loki, Scarlet Witch and Vision, and Falcon and Winter Soldier.
