They send us the Bills at outragrous prices. And usually against another poor team. It is almost as bad as the London games.

So? It's one game a year. TO fans can't get behind one game a year? Don't blame the NFL for losing any interest they had....not that they had much. There was/is very little upside in putting a team in TO and a huge downside, at least from the NFLs perspective.

Toronto fans will back a quality major league (not CFL) item at a reasonable price. But ask $200 to see the Bills play the Jacksonville Jaguars or the Atlanta Falcons in a meaningless match for playoff position is a bit much. It would be cheaper for me to catch a game in Buffalo than it was to go to a game here.

I don't see the NFL expanding. But franchises move and I can see one eventually moving here .... once the Argos are out of the picture.

You don't have to convince me. you have to convince the NFL. To that end the people of Toronto failed miserably. You can take solace in the fact that it doesn't matter anyway. The NFL will never do anything that would kill the CFL. In fact, I could see the NFL buying the Toronto Argonauts and operating them to keep the CFL afloat.

I don't have to convince anybody. If a Toronto team was here, I would probably go to a game or 2. Until then I will happely watch curled up on my easy chair every Sunday afternoon about 4-6 NFL games (including PiP) while ignoring the Argos. I would watch a CFL west final and/or grey cup if it had the Riders in it.

The NFL won't keep the CFL afloat. They will only not proceed as long as the CFL exists.

The biggest thing preventing a Toronto NFL franchise, after the existance of the CFL, is proximity to Buffalo. In 20-30 years that won't be an issue anymore as the Bills will be relocated.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you're wrong. The CFL is a development league for the NFL. While the NFL may not have a public position on whether or not the CFL continues I can assure you behind closed doors they will do whatever they can to keep it afloat.

I don't see it as a development league. The number of players going CFL --> NFL can be counted on my fingers. It is a place for NFL rejects to play as well as Canadian talent not drafted by an NFL team.

It is what it is. It can be entertaining but it is not NFL quality or a development league.

I'm sure you can appreciate the fact that the NFL really doesn't care about your opinion on the matter. There are lots of players that I've gone from the CFL to the NFL and especially at quarterback there's been some great ones

I am sure the NFL cares as much about my opinion (or yours or anybody outside their owners) as I care about yours. :)

It went down to the wire so in that sense it was a good game. I thought Collaros hung on to the ball way too long most of the game. The Ticats needed to be using more short passing. They really blew it when they were first and goal from the 2-3 yard line. A couple of QB sneaks up the middle and they would've scored. Too bad Reed put on the illegal block on the punt return. The Stampeder wouldn't have touched Banks if Reed had let him go.

I actually enjoyed the half-time show. And I thought it was pretty cool that all the Taskers came to the game as well as Seahawks QB Russell Wilson.

I agree with your thoughts on Zach. I kept yelling at him (well the TV) to get out of the pocket and not get so locked on his chosen receiver. Bo Levi showed us several examples of how well he was able to scramble out of the pocket and find an open receiver. I was also wondering why the Cats had such a hard time for the entire first half getting any where near Bo - they did a much better job in the second half.

I almost cried when I saw the flag on the field after Brandon's run. I knew even before the call that it was against the Cats. I was immediately taken back to our game against Montreal and the penalty that cost us the Cup - difference this time was that the poor kid who got caught on the illegal block was front and center for all to see.

Bo Levi richly deserved the game's MVP. He was so much fun to watch. Calgary is very luck to have him.

I too enjoyed the half-time show, Kreskin. I like Imagine Dragons.

They lost their starting QB. Had he not been injured, they would have been hosting the Western Final and probably hoisting the Grey Cup. They also wouldn't have broken it. Time to banish Calgary from the league.

Thanks for your staunch support of my ;-) Riders, IRBS but no need to bash the Stamps over the broken Cup - it has happened before and only adds to it's history.

It would have broken with our glorious tradition of going for many long years between Cups had we played and beat the Stamps them in this one. LOL

Did you watch the Seahawks vs 49ers last Thursday? Russell Wilson put on a clinic on how and when to get out of trouble. His decision-making was without hesitation. Even when he rolled out he wouldn't stay in a spot for more than a second. Collaros's decision-making took way too long. Lots of hesitation. There is only so much time available to hang around anywhere with the ball - in the pocket or out. Austin should have put in plays to help him get the ball out of his hands quickly.

I don't watch much of the NFL, Kreskin. I find it almost choreographed compared to our game. I have caught a couple of Sea Hawk games though and you are dead on about their QB.

Agreed about the play calling. After seeing Zach roll out and deliver solid passes in so many games this season, I could not understand why they would change the plays as they did. The kid has good legs too and they under- used them in the game.

At one point in the first half, I watched as Kent bawled out Zach on the side-line after another 2 and out, and I was so angry with him for doing that. Kent has a hard time controlling his temper and has lost it often during games. I know he is a good coach but his style leaves me really cold. Mind you, I feel the same about Chris Jones who also has a temper problem but is a darn good coach. They could both do with some anger management courses. IMHO.

And that, in a nutshell, is why I love CFL. The NFL has it's beauty, and is certainly impressive, but the CFL game is both more urgent with only three downs, and way more free-wheeling. To regular NFL watchers, it has a sort of wide-open, anything-goes, sandlot quality to it.

Plus, you just gotta love a league that has a penalty for "objectionable behaviour."

Well, if they don't say sorry it's just bad manners.

I like the clock management of the CFL. With 2 or 3 minutes left there is still a lot football to be played. No walking off the field.

LOL! It is sooo Canadian isn't it.

Speaking of penalties, I really didn't like the new rule about challenging pass interference calls by coaches at first. There were way too many games early in the season where it took forever for a ruling. Yet once the refs and techs got it together and after seeing some challenges actually change the outcome of the game, I became a believer. I like the rule now and hope the league votes to keep it in the book.

I found that, too, but I was patient, because I lived through the NFL's no challenge, unlimited challenges, no challenge, two challenges per game (losing a timeout if you lose the challenge) dance. It took time to get it right, but I like what they ended up with.
