GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - The rival Hamas and Fatah movements agreed on a plan implicitly recognizing Israel, a top Palestinian official said Tuesday after weeks of acrimonious negotiations meant to lift crippling international aid sanctions.

"We have an agreement over the document," said Ibrahim Abu Najah, coordination of the "national dialogue" over the proposal.

Moderate President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah has been trying to coax his Hamas rivals into endorsing the document, which calls for a Palestinian state alongside Israel.

He has endorsed the plan as a way to end crippling economic sanctions against the Hamas-led Palestinian government and pave the way to reopening peace talks with Israel.

So after they meet the three quidelines that Israel so they can be recognized globally, then the world can't continue its sanctions and Hamas and Fatah, will have to negotiate with Israel as the PM of Israel said because he would now have a peace partner. So its good that it blew up in Israel's face. :D

Well I was proved right. They recognize Israel and what does Israel do, they attack them. Not even a time period to let them get the soldier and the settler released.

Kindly make sure of your facts before spouting off. The Israelli military operation currently being undertaken is because negotiations for the release of the abducted Israeli soldier broke off. And consider this: even after all the consessions the Israelis have done in recent months, the Palestinian terrorists still conducted suicide attacks. You cannot blame Israel for their actions. The Palestinians are terrorists.

I am against suicide bombings as much as anyone. However, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip isn't apart of Israel and it is illegally occupied by the Israeli nation and any action taken against IDF forces by militants that are within the Geneva conventions are absolutely legit in war because it is a war.

The operation is to rescue the soldier, however they were thinking of invading Gaza last month, and they were just saying recently that if they did invade that might be a death sentence to the soldier. I think it has to do with the soldier but also has to do with the two-Palestinian groups recognizing Israel.

Name each and every concession Israel has done. And leaving Gaza isn't one because when you have water/air and all controls over Gaza it is not an independent area it is just an area occupied without an IDF presence.

To stop the unending daily rocket attacks being launched from Gaza into Israeli kitchens.

Judea. BS. That died in the 7th century. The Zionist people now aday who run the Israeli government have nothing in relaition to the Israelities that lived in this part of the Middle East so long ago. Don't believe me Juan has a link in Zionist and the Middle East go read it.

Turns out it's just another ruse anyway:

But Hamas legislator Salah al-Bardaweel told Reuters: "We said we accept a state (in territory occupied) in 1967 -- but we did not say we accept two states."

Judea died in the 7th century, the Palestinians have been living in that area since the 7th century maybe before and it is there territory, the Gaza and West Bank. Hamas is between two factions within it and it was most likely the moderate faction that signed this deal which meas that they will probably be accepted as two-states.

The founding document of Hamas, their Constitution, so to speak, calls for the complete destruction of Israel and the murder of its people. Until that changes, Hamas is a terror organization that has not recognized Israel in any real sense, and the Israelis can not (and should not) negotiate with them. Phony agreements carefully worded to AVOID the recognition of Israelin any real way, and only intended to get hundreds of millions from the suckers that have been paying Palestine over the years DON'T COUNT.
