Typical summertime weather for Alberta, mostly central gets the worst.
First thing I do when I check into a motel at a new town for work is note where the carwash is and any trees.
I also have 2 comforters and a sleeping bag in my truck, thrown over the truck in a hail storm will save you from all those little dents.

I have been lucky so far, we have been under about a dozen severe hail storm
warnings and it hailed bu not here. Right now we have smoke from Siberia Russia.
Interior of BC all the way down to California. It is supposed to rain tomorrow and
relieve us from 33 to 35 degree weather for almost two weeks now. It really sucks.

I remember that happening to some friends of my parents in Medicine Hat quite a few decades ago. Large hailstones aren't that uncommon in the prairies apparently.

Help yerself.
Seems to me that for the past few years at least, there has been storms that have had large (at least golf ball sized) hail.

I heard on 660 cfr about how they had 4 planes seeding that storm which the pilots called a beast.I did not know Alberta did this and those planes must have had to been at quite an altitude to seed thunderheads.
They said they threw everything they had at it to reduce the size of the hail.
Learn something new everyday and I would love to be a passenger in that plane.

Been lucky this year, lots of severe storm warnings but no hail, just some extreme wind conditions.

Located 40km north of Edmonton.

Well, I was under the impression that they happen sometimes in the prairies and have been for decades.

Just one more reason not to drive on Deerfoot Trail - YouTube
lol Saw the white car moved to a lane farther away from the tanker truck, and the black SUV pulled right off the road. Musta been nervous about the sign landing on the tanker and making it go BOOM.
