For the leader of one of the weakest minorities in Canadian history Harper has been acting with an arrogance that makes even Pierre Trudeau look humble. ....

That's hilarious!! You call Harper arrogant? If Harper is considered arrogant than what would you call Jack Layton? Harper actually won the election, Jack Layton got such a small percentage of the vote yet he struts around like he is the emperor of Canada. A friend of mine was involved in security detail for a federal conference awhile back, he said Harper was quite nice and easy going. Layton on the other hand, oh boy, he acted like he was something special and sure demanded allot. Night and day difference my friend said.

None of the parties wanted an election at this time, the polls are just too fluid and the opposition is clearly not ready for the final push. The biggest mistake people could make is to count out Dion,
no I don't support the Liberals but this guy has the ability to come out of nowhere and he does it by letting his opposition hang themselves and Harper is doing just that
I don't think I could find a reason to vote for Harper, or Jack Layton so what choice do I have, this time its anyone but Harper, he must never be allowed to have a majority and set this country back several decades. I don't miss Reform either they were the worst of all alternatives, and at least with a few moderate tories these guys can't go completely off the deep end

Actually I respected him for changing his mind about stornaway, as he realized the leader of the oposition needs protection and it was cheaper to provide the safety service by living in that residence as opposed to living in an ordinary appartment.
I am not a conservative, by any means but I did have a grudging respect for Preston, something I do not have for this new Prime Minister, who won't be around for very long.
Looking back I guess we really must ask ourselves, where did all he good leaders go, we had some good people in the past. Personally I think when Nixon was unmasked for the last time, we lost our respect for public officials and the level of trust has never been restored.
If we truly listened and searched for good leadership skills instead of looking for a political saviour, we would actuall elect some people with the countries interests at heart

Harper today on Canada Day said that we are more unified as a country. Talk about ignorant! It is hard to celebrate Canada with a moron at the helm! Yet, I found a way to celebrate without letting my anxiety take over.
