If Bill Maher is a comedian, and should be taken lightly.........

then so is Ann Coulter.

And yes, I can take a joke.....if it is funny.

And yes, I understand his "point", the problem being that his basic premise is entirely incorrect.

That makes the comment insulting, irrelevant.......and not funny.
Oh his commentary was funny...f*cking hilarious even. And it was spot on about the hypocrisy of so called 'peaceful' religions. You may not like the truth but that's what it is.

How is it we always end up talking about the murder of Muslims from the crusades right up
until the present? It is because the area is littered with war. Yes we did some terrible things.
Yes they were at one time hard done by and should have a pat on the head and even an
apology. Let us look at the reality of the situation before we do that though.
First these people have been fighting with each other long before there was a Muslim faith.
they were tribal nomads and some still are, at some point they evolved into more urban
tribal groups, based on inter tribal racism and hatred for each other and in some cases themselves.
From there they adopted Islam a religion that reflects their despair. Instead of coming up with
solutions to their problems within the framework of a civil society, they embraced their endless
poverty, ignorance, and sense of self loathing. Look at the basis of the faith, we should all live in
misery, and wanting until the next life and then we will have virgins, and pleasures forever.
If there is nothing to look forward too to improve the human condition, there is only the suffering
within the human condition, that influenced the mind of individuals and warps the view of the
society in general.
Then bring on the west and its exploitation, and you have a powder keg. Instead of doing what the
rest of the world has done, in the face of western exploitation, advance societaly and educate and
raise themselves up the Muslims have taken a different road. First they maintained their feudal
existence with the kings and dictators of the past. The people were kept in a state of ignorance and
dependence. The dictators and their families held onto power, and the extraordinary wealth produced
from oil. We condemn the west? What the wealthy have done to their own people is far worse than
anything thought up by the western powers. If this were any other society they would have taken the
wealth poured in from oil and developed the most progressive civil society on earth. No so in the
Middle East.
What has really held these people back is their faith in a failed religion that has condemned them to
ignorance, and poverty while we pour millions in aid to keep most of them going, because the rich
among the poor don't care about their disadvantaged cousins the Palestinians being a prime example.
To suggest the fault is at the feet of America is nonsense, if you want to blame the west talk about
Britain, France, Italy, and in later years even the Russians, but not so much America. For all her faults
the United States has actually provided some stability in the region. Yes they backed dictators and
even a few despots, but that is all tribal people understand, and they themselves seem unwilling or
unprepared to rise to the next level in their historical progress.
They can blame the west and provide an endless supply of crying towels to the people or they can get
off their backside and change their understanding to the world, to embrace human progress and get
on with joining the rest of civilization. Instead they wallow in their sorry and ignorance propped up by
a skewed vision of religion that provides neither comfort, direction, or insight into their future direction.
They have not dismantled the Myth of American Hero's they in fact have dismantled their belief in
themselves,
