It doesn't matter if we have had good economic success or not with Mr. Goodale or not. If information was leaked to some 'friends' of the liberals and not to others than an investigation should be done and Goodale should step down for the time period until the investigation is over. 37 million dollars at least were made, and that was made with people with a possible inside advantage, which resulted in losses for an untold number of people.

And to critize the Conservatives a little bit because I have been agreeing with them too much, at least it was the NDP that provided light on this story while the conservatives sat around and did nothing.

Point taken, but to support the Conservatives, their ministers did step down during any investigations, and were then reinstated when the allegations were disproved. The Liberals, well, thats a different story.

what ever happened to Paul Martins promise to clean up Ottawa and bring accountability. If his words had meaning he would have Goodale sitting out immediately. Having said that, I don't think anyone would be able to handle this very well, even mr "clean as a baby bottom" layton.

Well if you are a government of entitlement, you will always be a government of entitlement and you will go down fighting and screaming and throwing up as many obstacles as you can. Even though I don't think this is a wise one on their part.

And to note, what the NDP and Conservatives are proposing is that Ralph Goodale resign until the investigation is over. They are not trying to hang him for something not yet proved. However in defence of Ralph Goodale, probably by the time the investigation is over, the election will be over and his position might be filled or the Liberals will have 'da boot'.

An economic update is just that; it's an update on an economy, and any adjustments the Government may need to make as a consequence. There's no reason for such minor provisions to be debated in the House of Commons; it would be a waste of our time as taxpayers, most particularly when such an update is more of a declarative legislative measure than anything else. That's my opinion, at least.

If it was simply "minor" updates, I may agree, but doubt it. However, the last update was certainly more than minor, with absolutely no debate in the Commons over anything that the Liberals brought in. That you find nothing wrong with this is, again, quite disturbing, and shows a disregard for democracy, and provides another example of how arrogant the Libs and their supporters have become.

Follow this through to your logical conclusion. Under your reasoning, we really don't need to have debated budgets, just a series of three, four, maybe five "minor economic updates" a year. Sounds like a scenario for pure dictatorship.
