I've actually heard this before, a month or two past. A group of scientists have begun to ponder on releasing more of the sulphur compounds which have a cooling effect in the atmosphere.

It's usually not a good idea to mess around with things that could potentially make things worse. Remember Cane Toads in Australia?

Am I the only one who thinks this sounds sort of like hoakey information cooked up so we'll loosen our strangle hold on industrial emmissions? I don't relaly believe it of course, but my mind couldn't help but conjure up the image of a bunch of fat cat CEO's somewhere, dreaming up a way to convince us that the pollution is really a GOOD thing.

It's definitely not a good idea, it's bad that they are even considering this as worthy of study. It wouldn't be worse for the warming aspect, but much worse for acid rain, airborne pollutants etc.

Yeah. There's a few scientists that think as the globe heats up there will be more and more moisture in the air which would effectively do the same thing as smog but is much less harmful. Of course, the UK may turn into North Africa by then but people are pretty adaptable. :D

Who knows just how we are stuffing with the environment. First Global Cooling, then Global Warming, now Global Dimming.

One thing is for sure, the nature is not meant to cope with what man is putting it through. Something has to give sooner or later ...
