That's right...

A set of supersized headphones has been stolen from a Metro Transit bus shelter in Halifax.

The headphones — measuring 1.5 metres high and 1.5 metres wide — had been put over a bus shelter near the corner of South Street and Tower Road as part of a Dairy Farmers of Canada campaign advertising free workout music.

A spokeswoman for the Dairy Farmers of Canada told CBC News the headphones are worth $12,000.

Because of the size of the headphones, Halifax Regional Police say they believe two or more people are responsible for the deed.

The theft was reported by a passerby and is believed to have happened sometime between the end of May and the first week of June.

People in NS like novelty things like that.... a few years back in New Glasgow, a bench statue of Ronald McDonald was stolen, but later found. One morning the employees at the McDonalds near the Aberdeen Hospital noticed their bench had a bit more space on it and Mr. McDonald was missing.

Later on, police found the statue sitting on the side of the East River Bridge with a note in his lap saying something like "Sorry for making you all worry about me, but I had to stretch my legs."

Of course after that he was bolted into the ground.
