The endeavours of certain citizens of Québec to separate from Canada is based on an effort to recognize their distinct society — I don't think that anyone in Québec wishes to separate entirely from Canada, which can be seen by the comments of Gilles Duceppe in relation to a "sovereign Québec in an economic partnership with Canada" — is he referring to federal transfer payments? lol

It is true that Mr. Duceppe has suggested some sort of "partnership" with Canada, rather than entirely cutting economic or fiscal ties; that doesn't sound quite like sovereignty.

I agree there. I'm starting to think the fundamentalist Islamists will. It seems more and more that "Allah Akbar" is the "Sieg Heil" of the 21st Century. Creepy stuff.

And back to the topic, I really don't see any reason why the residents of a country can't decide who they want to move in, and who to stay out. If the French are all for halting Muslim immigration, let them, there's nothing anyone else can do about it.

of any new Christian churches, but will allow very
small expansion of existing church structures.

Does the West have a law forbidding the building of
new mosques ?

It shouldn't have such a law, but I think nations have
a right to restrict immigration in any manner.

New Zealand only allows certain talented professions
