Like the Philippines?

Let's add...

Canada
England
Germany
Japan

And oh so many more.

Getting the hint yet?

Those are the future conquests and the ones I listed are the past

What am I missing here? The claim is, US moves in and takes over. Claim qualified with part of a country?

Don't even get me started on Guam AND the Northern Mariana's.

Part of Mexico "The whole states of California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, as well as parts of Wyoming, Colorado, Oklahoma and Kansas."

What present USA States were part of Mexico in the past

I see, so places they moved into, in the same time frame as the majority of your list and for closely similar reasons, are being placed on hold, for take over, until the future?

And...

And of course you would have to ignore the shift in American doctrine during that time, compared to the rest of your list and the reasons why those areas were brought in to the US protectorate, in form or another.

You are forgetting the hidden agenda concept the Americans are known for . All I am saying when the time is right they strike very quickly.

I'm surprised you took the time to decipher that mess.

The edit function has some very interesting glitches today.

Thanks for your effort.

Well that's interesting.

I thought maybe you wanted to discuss the complex manner of how parts of a Spanish colony became part of the US. Or US doctrine/policy of the time, was quite different than today.
