OPEC has been robbing us blind for decades and not putting the loot in the hands of their citizens. Now that we are finally about to produce enough for our own needs OPEC can starve.

You also did business with Saddam when he was waging a war against Iran for 8 years. Didn't really get him any points in the end did it. We support Saudi because that is the way big oil wants it run, we tried the same routine in Iran and they gave us the boot 25 years later. The list goes on but Bahrain is the best example of how we want the region run. 1% of them get 1% of the oil money and the shareholders in the West get the rest.
Our economy got hit just as hard as Russia's did. She is out signing up billions in contracts, what have we signed up in the last 5 years, fuk all. We aren't even allowed to replace out lines from Alberta to Ontario. How is going to suffer when those go off-line?
The high prices were for the pockets of the shareholders of big oil. For the wealth that got extracted OPEC got next to nothing.
