No 1 ... every halloween night they have a Rocky Horror Picture Show event at one of the off-beat theatres (the Roxy) here in Victoria. People dress up, sing along ... it's a party.

Of course my fav character is the "Sweet Transvestite". ;)

I went to one in Vancouver a few years ago and it was a lot of fun. Everybody should go just go and "expeirence it" just once.

I was there last year, went in-land and "experienced" the wine festival...I likes the vineyard hopping. I never got to Victoria though, must add it to my list of things to do, then I'll see Victoria, pea's garden, Moche and the rocky horror picture show all at once! Talk about multi-tasking!

Now that's asking too much, I'll probably end up going to see a movie in pea's garden and toilet papering Moche, and then go look at the movie theater wondering where the flowers are 8O There is a limit to multi-tasking, you know :D

It's amazing just how similar to the graphic novels the film is. I can recognize whole sequences that are brought to life from the comics, and the casting was genius.

A few movies I enjoyed immensely:
The Life Aquatic with Bill Murray - very quirky humour - you love it or hate it. Pure genius imo
City of God - foreign flick (subtitled) about violence in the slums of Rio. Shocking, powerful stuff!
Team America, World Police - funny as hell, I'm sure all you lefties love it. I can't get some of the songs out of my head: "....it's called a Montage!" lol

Anybody seen these?

Oh yeah, I watched Jarhead the other day. Usually I LOVE war movies, but for me this one missed the mark a little. More about depicting the boredom and lack of action that characterised Desert Storm for most of the US soldiers. Something like 8 months in the desert, they barely saw an Iraqi, let alone had a chance to take a shot at Iraqi national guard.

Movie was ok, not what I expected.

1. Night at the Roxbury (stupid funny, Will Farrell at his best IMO)
2. Training Day or Man on Fire (I like almost every movie with Denzel).
3. A Beautiful Mind
4. Spinal Tap (not too big, but absolutely hilarious!)

My fifth favourite could could be any of the following: Zoolander, The Rookie, Collateral, Saving Silverman, The Pianist.

Someone mentioned Van Wilder, that was pretty funny too (especially the dog part).

My all time favorite film was Silence of the Lambs. Outstanding movie. Of course without Anthony Hopkins/Jodie Foster, it just wouldn't have been the same.

I also enjoyed watching Open Range with Robert Duvall and Kevin Kostner. Both exceptional actors.

Oh man, i forgot about Old School. I've had this argument before with a buddy about whether Night at the Roxbury or Old School was Will Ferrell's best movie. I've also heard his SNL videos are really good, though I've never seen them. But definetely Old School would be up there for me.
