... before they start going all "you a nazi" on anyone brighter than them.

Get over it, and yourselves you big babies.
Now I know why Colpy and the usual suspects call me a Nazi so often. lol

In this day and age nobody should be exempt from being profiled. At birth everybody gets issued a birth certificate and that is step one, by the time you die of old age the 'folder' will 'be thicker'. The danger lies in who has access to gather that info and make use of it in some underhanded way.

A lot is said about how the NSA is so involved in snooping that even world leaders are subject to it. They then act somewhat indignant and then go back to their office where they pour over 'secret data' that their side has gathered. Gathered is not even the right term, handed to them is a more accurate term. The US says it regularly sends data to Israel, that's a flat out lie, it is Israel that hands the data over to the NSA and to all other similar entities that belong to 'the West'. Again having the ability to gather all that data is not bad in itself but what happens after is where it becomes corrupt, such as the 'all Muslims' want the rest of the world dead, especially Jews, dead.

If you want the methods explained a lot further claim that this post is just anti-Semitic Jew bashing and the airport security, the phone billing system, production of the processors used in 'most' computers with back-doors are all methods used for collecting the data. What happens after means the system should be shut down, (almost impossible) or crack it wide open where anybody with a birth certificate can get all the info that is available and have that use monitored in that stalking could be easily identified but looking for verification that the person you are dealing with is who/what they say they are would be a form of protection that the system could allow for all people rather than every jot being classified as 'National Security'. The security issue is knowing who collects the data and how much they collect and that is for a very select few who would object to them being in that same position. Give the serfs the same ability as the 'elite' and the annomosity that exists should be reduced without the 'elite' being brought down low for crimes against the 95% of the world.

BTW, El Al, despite being the ISRAELI airline, has not been hijacked since 1968.

NOT profiling is insane.

El Al applies a uniform standard to all passengers. It does not single out Arabs or Muslims. It is the uniform application of precautionary practices that keeps the airlines safe - this to their credit, of course.

Dunno if you recall an earlier discussion we had a long while ago about the movie "Battle For Algiers" where Algerian "terrorists" were profiled. When they were the freedom fighters employed female agents and blew away the French imperialists. That's how they won their freedom from the imperialists. This certainly proved that profiling does not work.

Same with society today as ISIS is now employing white or European agents - profiling dark skinned or Arab types won't work as new light skinned agents who don't fit the profile will be employed. Instead, apply a uniform standard across the entire populace - that's when we will have safety.

I'd be against profiling neo-Nazis.
Left unsaid is that classifying them as a neo-Nazi means they are already profiled in order to have that label. (by somebody like Colpy means squat but in bigger circles carreers are made and broken on what a person says in public, or in private if they can be 'heard'

I don't know. If you go around carrying swastikas and marching in American Nazi Party parades, I don't think it's profiling to conclude that you're a Nazi.

You are correct that the link makes reference to religion/practice, not to skin tone or ethnicity. But you know as well as I do that invariably it will be about outward appearance and every manner of excuse will be used as justification for police or other stoppages.

Years ago I read of Jews escaping Nazi Germany by shaving their beards, shunning the dark suits and yarmulkes, and wearing Christian crosses. This enabled them to cross the borders and make their way to the USA or UK or elsewhere. No question that outward appearance is a significant factor in how the authorities always treat people.

Thank you for taking away that moment of joy, others will probably appreciate it more than me though so expect a lot of greenies.

The US profiled the Japanese citizens in WWII and acted on that intel. I doubt skin color is the only factor in who is selected for profiling, get a passport probably automatically gets your name put on a list that is different from the one when you got a drivers.

The false indignation of Germany when it is 'leaked' that the NSA is spying on them is an example of deception and that is the crime rather than the listening in. If it was above board like it should be there would be no need for secrecy. If that was done away how much money would that free up for constructive projects. I don't see the entire global spy network as running on chump change.

You still have to see beneath the hood of a KKK member to know who they are, isn't identification and being put in a group one of the first steps in profiling. The ones in that parade would certainly get a file opened but the additions are not from simple observations that can be made in public. Take two people in the parade and follow them and one might be a fairly normal family man and the other is making all sort of plans to harm the public.
My point is the ones looking into the 'affairs of some' strongly object to them being put through the same process. Merkel is a perfect example, public indignation at being spied on yet she would spend $10M of public funds to catch a few conversations that are meant to be hidden from her.

I think we're dealing with the kind of mentality that thinks all Muslims look like this:

instead of like this:

That's what the French failed to understand which led to Algeria becoming liberated by those imperialists.
