Spanked? Hell no. But it does concern me to see the workingman who has no idea what is happening around them getting screwed.
Ok. I pay 14% income tax while my employees pay 32%+
Why?
People are the economy not business. I don't pay any employee expenses. They get billed out all the same and the cost is passed on at profit.Because you get tax breaks they don't due to the costs of running a business/employing people. It is part of the stimulus to get people adding to the economy.
People are the economy not business.
people, economy, and business are all the same thing in essence. They all consist of people working, moving, serving, buying, selling.
No people = no moving, serving, buying, selling. So why screw them?
Hospitals, schools, running water, roads, emergency services are all Provincial and Municipal taxes.Because no people= no moving, serving, buying, selling. And because no people means none of those things, certain things have to happen to keep the populace healthy. They need hospitals, schools, running water, roads, emergency services, the list goes on and on and on.
Low taxes for you means more employment for others. It all works out in the wash, so to speak.
Why can't you contract yourself to your employer and save 20%?
Or do employers think they are obliged while others know damn well better and take advantage? You could if your employer agreed to do it.
Lets see. 20% tax savings 5% CPP saved plus 11% EI = 36% in your pocket while you still have provincial healtcare paid through property and provincial sales taxes. You can take on hell of a vaction with 36% of your income being yours again. You could if your employer agreed to do it.
But likely as a contractor you'd also get no benefits, and that would mean no paid vacation or health benefits. There can be tax benefits, but it's not always as easy as it seems.
What do you mean when?Relax Petros when the Socialists come to power we will tax you retroactivly back to the crib. If it'll make you feel better.
