Exxon makes record profits

I'll be posting the Alberta oil revenue projections for this year and possibly next. That will be an eye opener!

These guys don't even pay income tax! They have a write off for "unknown losses in the future!" Dam I want one of those. I don't think Harper's views of "fixing things" extends to corporations.

Should we be concerned when a corporation has a revenue of approximately one-fifth that of an entire country — i.e., Canada? That may be a sign in respect of possible unethical standards in relation to their pricing of product.

And you ask why the other day, that there was no reason to do 9-11, exxon are in iraq, and they are doing very good profit.

ahhh yes, collusion.

there seems to be calls for investigations into potential collusion within the oil industry from time to time. It will be interesting if they ever find "the smoking gun".

And at times, I'm sure they'll find something.

But 98% of the time they won't.

Its an old political game, to make the politician look like he's on the side of the people, since its the people who wind up paying more. Its good political optics.

They don't look very hard, Exxon still hasn't paid the fines for the Valdez spill, and as for the oil industry fearing the government to much that's hard to credit since they are for all intents and purposes the Government. See GW eh, see Chenny eh, see Iraq eh.

I have just completed a return trip Edm Regina and the price of gas killed me. Seems like every long weekend we scream foul and every long weekend the government investigates and finds no foul!

OPEC doing what it does best, controlling the flow of oil and screaming that it is "World events" and "Consumer Consuption" and it's not them at fault. 30 year old refineries, no up-grading of eguipment and controlling the flow of oil. Sure it's all the little guys fault. Sure, okay, pluck off, what ever I don't believe them. Will we never learn?
