Group C

Slovenia 1-1 Denmark

Group C

Serbia 0-1 England

Joint favourites England tend not to win their opening European Championship matches but they did so tonight in this first ever game between the two nations.

England were sublime in the first half but didn't do so good in the second, but held out for the win.

With Denmark and Slovenia drawing, England are two points clear in the group.

I think Woeber's been offered French citizenship. . .

France 1-0 Austria

It's wide open this tournament. None of the big guns have made convincing starts except maybe Germany and Spain, yet Germany's 5-1 win in the opening match - against Scotland - came against the team with the worst record coming into the tournament.

Group E

Romania 3-0 Ukraine

Incredibly, Romania secured only their second ever win in a European Championships, their only previous victory being a 3-2 win against England at Euro 2000.

Group E

Belgium 0-1 Slovakia

World No3 Belgium suffered a surprise defeat against World No48 Slovakia and now have a mountain to climb

Group D

Austria 0-1 France

France, joint favourites with England, were fortuitous against "Das Team".

Amazing crowd support. One of those things where the economic impact outshines the taxpayer expense in hosting the event.

Spain looked good.

Group A

Germany 2-0 Hungary

Germany, looking unrecognisable in purple and blue, and Hungary met each other for the second consecutive European Championships.

Back in the 1950s Hungary were the best team in the world and notably became the first team to beat England in England in 1953.

Group A

Scotland 1-1 Switzerland

Group B

Croatia 2-2 Albania

Tomorrow:

Group C

Slovenia Vs Serbia
Denmark Vs England
(Euro 92 winners Denmark will be looking for revenge after England beat them 2-1 in the Euro 2020 Semi-Final)

Group B

Spain Vs Italy
(First clash between two of the big boys. A mouthwatering prospect. Holders Italy beat England in the Euro 2020 Final and are looking to keep their hands on that magnificent trophy)

France forward Kylian Mbappe broke his nose after accidentally headbutting Austria defender Danso's shoulder.

The French Football Federation has said it is unclear if the national side's star striker will be fit to play the next match against the Netherlands.

The Dutch - winners of Euro 88 - will be hoping he won't be fit to play.

So. . . he got Mbopped in the schnozz?

You're talking about that cheesy song by Hanson back in '97?

It makes me feel old because I remember it like it was a fortnight ago.

It's depressing that I'm 43 next month and I was 23 when I joined this forum in October 2004.

It's also weird that I've been here for 20 years. When I joined this forum we were still using dial up internet.

You're welcome.

I say that because in my career, I worked on the advance of the internet.

I'm in my 60s now, and no smarter than I was at 18. Life is good.
