EUROPEAN Union boss Jean-Claude Juncker this afternoon issued a jaw-dropping threat to the United States, saying he could campaign to break up the country in revenge for Donald Trump’s supportive comments about Brexit.

In an extraordinary speech the EU Commission president said he would push for Ohio and Texas to split from the rest of America if the Republican president does not change his tune and become more supportive of the EU.

The remarks are diplomatic dynamite at a time when relations between Washington and Brussels are already strained over Europe’s meagre contributions to NATO and the US leader’s open preference for dealing with national governments.

They are by far the most outspoken intervention any senior EU figure has made about Mr Trump and are likely to dismay some European leaders who were hoping to seek a policy of rapprochement with their most important ally.

Ironically, it's a a continuation of Hitler's idea but with deep communist undertones. The fact that Britain is leaving should thrill Juncker. After all, there's a mostly "unified" Europe and with Britain out of the picture, Germany becomes THE dominant power within the EU. The obvious down-side being they'll also get to carry the bulk of the financial burden of the EU with Britain out.

And to further demonstrate its undemocratic ways, at the UN the EU votes as a bloc in many circumstances, resulting in a single vote from the bulk of the European continent. They don't want any individual countries exercising their right to disagree with what Brussels wants.
For example, let's say there was a UN resolution to enact an embargo on some country. Now, when the European countries voted on it, if 70% of the EU countries voted against it and 30% voted for it, it would only count as a single vote against. Meaning in various matters at the UN, individual EU states don't have a voice in them.

Two EU member states are permanent members of the UN Security Council - Britain and France. However, with Britain seceding, that will be reduced to just one. But the EU might be glad to see Britain gone when it comes to the UN - Britain has blocked more than 70 EU statements to UN committees. Britain has done this as she is unhappy that the statements read they are on behalf of the EU, rather than "EU and its member states" as Britain has insisted. The rest of the EU sees this as Britain attempting to stop a drift towards a common EU foreign policy.
