The whole trial was a political move.
The Headline says it All.
He was found guilty, but we don't want to fuck up his presidential bid. So we will wait until he can pardon himself.
Who in the history of the world that isn't a Mullah, a Tyrant, or a Cult leader gets to delay their sentencing until after they are put in a position to pardon themself?
What an absurd, horrible joke.

Sigh. The president can't pardon state criminal convictions.

Sigh. I stand corrected. I wasn't aware it was a state conviction, but then I wasn't aware that a president could pardon himself on any sentence.

Regardless, the delay is still fucking stupid. He broke the law. He was found guilty. His sentencing should not be delayed; his candidacy should have never been allowed to go ahead in the first place. Your founding fathers, for all their hype, should have had a provision for criminal acts. Did they miss that on a Friday long weekend or something?

New York. Still not an independent country, but stay tuned.

As to whether a President can pardon himherself, that's still up in the air.

No, they simply couldn't imagine people voting for a convicted criminal.

I think if you brought 'em all back to life and showed them 21st-century America, their reaction would be "What the actual FUCK?"

If Trump actually gets in, which is entirely possible from the outside watching…I’m assuming his lawyers (again, just an assumption) will tie things up for the next four years arguing the state vs federal pardon or that he should get house arrest in the White House, and then he can’t leave unless he’s escorted (by the Secret Service)???

I think there is a possibility he might lose, but the Democrats have really painted themselves into a corner. Trump will being doing the chicken in every pot routine and that resonates with voters in the working class.

The first debate between Non-Biden Harris & Trump is Tuesday I think unless that’s changed. I’m curious to see how they both dance without a teleprompter & a script.

He'll be hitting her on the border and the economy.
She's going to take some blows from Trump on that. We'll see how she handles herself, but the debate will be on her record.
That's going to be an uphill battle for Harris.

We're already seeing the Republican line. They're blaming Harris for everything bad that happened during the Biden administration, pretending the VP has any significant input on that.

She should turn it around and credit convicted felon Pence for everything Trump lists as an accomplishment from his term.

Oh, so you don't think life under Biden was such a bed of roses now. Good to know.
