As we get closer to the election, these polls become more accurate. The PCs continue to increase in popularity.

Doug Ford led PCs Would Win Majority Government, According to Online Poll
- Alan Kan

If a provincial election were held today, the Ontario PC Party would win a solid majority government. The Tories would win support from almost every region, putting Doug Ford in the premier's chair, according to this poll from the market research firm Campaign Research.

Following Ford's election as PC party leader, the PCs would receive 43 per cent of support from the electorate, while the Ontario Liberal Party would have the support of 27 per cent of decided voters, the Ontario New Democratic Party would have 23 per cent support, and the Green Party of Ontario five per cent support.

Only 11 percent of Ontarians were undecided as to whom they will vote for. If you look at some of these regional breakdowns, things are not looking good for the currently governing Ontario Liberals:

Peel / Halton: PCs 50 per cent, OLP 28 per cent, NDP 18 per cent.

Hamilton-Niagara: PCs 40 per cent, OLP 29 per cent, NDP 27 per cent.

City of Toronto: PCs 37 per cent, OLP 36 per cent, NDP 22 per cent, Greens 3 per cent.

City of Ottawa: OLP 42 per cent, PCs 34 per cent, NDP 18 per cent, Greens 5 per cent.

According to Campaign Research, this online poll was conducted between March 12 to 14 among a panel of 1,637 Ontario voters. A probability sample of this size would have a margin of error of plus or minus 2.4 percent, 19 out of 20 times.

I agree that hydro and taxes are too high in Ontario. I question whether the PCs can recover 333,000 jobs, but any return is an improvement.

It's been two weeks, and he is staying on mess.

Doug Ford says he will cut red tape to revive Ontario manufacturing jobs

The PC leader spoke Saturday at a campaign office opening in Ajax, where he was joined by former rivals Caroline Mulroney and Christine Elliott.

By Jillian Follert, Ajax News Advertiser

AJAX—Ontario’s new Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford talked about cutting red tape for business as he revved up supporters at a campaign office opening in Ajax on Saturday.

“There’s no reason why we can’t have the manufacturing jobs back,” Ford told a cheering crowd at the office opening for Rod Phillips, the PC candidate in the redrawn riding of Ajax.

Ford said 333,000 manufacturing jobs have left Ontario, and that as premier, he could attract investment by cutting red tape.

“When I talk to owners of companies, no matter if it’s small or large, the number one issue is all the bureaucracy and red tape and regulation that they have to face,” he said, adding that businesses “have to make sure that we don’t have a carbon tax, they have to make sure that we’re competitive when it comes to hydro rates.”

Phillips, who is former chairman of Postmedia and former president and CEO of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, is looking to unseat current Ajax-Pickering Liberal MPP Joe Dickson, who has held the seat since 2007.

“People are ready for a change from Kathleen Wynne and Joe Dickson,” he says. “Hydro rates are too high, taxes are too high … the cost of living in Ajax is too high.

Phillips has been part of the PC party for 30 years, and says he is impressed with how quickly the party came together after Ford’s win.

“It’s the fastest I’ve ever seen he team come back together …” he says adding that former leader Patrick Brown’s resignation amidst sexual misconduct allegations could have been “very destructive for the party, but ended up being very unifying.”

You bet. Doug gets his turn at bat. The PCs will correct some of what the Liberals did to Ontario. It will be difficult to fix 15 years worth of mismanagement by McGuinty and Wynne though. It will take time.

I think the Liberals are resigned to a loss. The NDP are angry at the missed opportunity.

I expect them to be promising the moon over the next couple of months. And get dirty. Last election they bribed the labour unions to fund huge anti-Hudak ads which since they were not done by the Lieberals did not count against their allowed budget. Expect simular dirty tricks this time. The corrupt and power hungry will do anything to stay in power. Expect more of the same.

That's the ebb and flow of CDN politics. One party is in power for years, but the electorate gets tired of them, and they are removed.

This oscillation is important for citizens. Keeping any party around for too long is asking for trouble.

Liberals seem to be getting more than their share of time in Power tho.

There have been a few good Conservative Leaders in the past, but finding the good ones is difficult it seems.
Ford is ok but Brown was a weakling to start with.

Seems being a Lib, all you have to do to be good is to give money away and everybody is happy

The country is shifting more to the Left, all the immigrants that the Libs bring in are mostly Left leaning.

The Conservatives are going to have to learn to pick up their game for some Lefties if they want to win Power in some of the provinces

Most immigrants are actually more conservative by nature , but the Liberals have been allowed to portray their selves as pro immigration and those mean dirty stinking rotten to the core conservatives hate them all.
