Donald Trump's state visit to Britain put on hold

Donald Trump has told Theresa May in a phone call he does not want to go ahead with a state visit to Britain until the British public supports him coming.

The US president said he did not want to come if there were large-scale protests and his remarks in effect put the visit on hold for some time.

The call was made in recent weeks, according to a Downing Street adviser who was in the room. The statement surprised May, according to those present.

The conversation in part explains why there has been little public discussion about a visit.

May invited Trump to Britain seven days after his inauguration when she became the first foreign leader to visit him in the White House. She told a joint press conference she had extended an invitation from the Queen to Trump and his wife Melania to make a state visit later in the year and was “delighted that the president has accepted that invitation”.

Many senior diplomats, including Lord Ricketts, the former national security adviser, said the invitation was premature, but impossible to rescind once made.

Why didn't the lefties and Guardianistas not protest Xi Jinping's State Visit to the UK in 2015?

Because Troomp is much worse.

Jinping is a man who has clamped down on democracy within his country and holds an enviable human rights record.

So you would think, with this record, that the British lefties and Guardianistas would have been up in arms about his State Visit in October 2015, taking to the streets in protest and signing online petitions demanding a stop to his State Visit, as they have done with Trump.

Instead, they were all quiet. They were no protests from them. The only protests to his State Visit were from Chinese residents in Britain.

There were even some numpty MPs in parliament (some of whom have just lost Commons seats) who held a meeting to discuss whether or not Trump should be allowed a State Visit, yet they had no such meeting ahead of Jinping's visit.

The left does not like freedom or democracy. Both are counter to their groupthink.

The USA will continue to isolate itself even further. Until they are so isolated no one knows what's going on in the USA. The same way no one knows what's going on in China. And then no one will protest them.
