well... thats not an option for me because of my beliefs, which is why I do find it troubling that one cannot
exercise his values without encuring some fee. Its like a making marriage a business transaction.
It is not the cost that bothers me, just that the government sees a chance to profit and does not hesitate to exploit it, for me it cheapens the experience that I have to pay to have a wife.
They are borderline pimps.
It's not "like" it at all, that's exactly what it is. A marriage is a civil contract under the laws of the jurisdiction it happens in, it gives you certain legally defined rights and obligations regarding each other, grounds for dissolution of the contract if you fail to meet the terms, and rules for settling things up if that happens. There's no disrespect involved at all, the license is just to ensure both parties are legally entitled to enter into such a contract with each other. You can't do it with a sibling, for instance, and you can't do it when you're 12 years old, for good and sensible reasons. Its like a making marriage a business transaction.

... but if a license is needed than yes I'll pay a hidden tax so that all Canadians can marry when so desired....

well if they are going to charge for it, I would rather it be hidden because in principle
i would rather not know what I'm paying for, I indeed would rather it not be needed at all.
I do not rquire my government to acknowledge my marriage they decided for me,
My word my vow is all God requires and it is good enough for me, and Him but not them.
thats exactly my point, why? A license is required for permission to do something, why should we need the governments ok, to do something that is morally and spirtually correct.

The government is the upper management of a corporation called Canada. They grow and manage us and we produce for them. We are their revenue stream and such "service fees" are one way they collect from us. Like plump fat little aphids they more us around from leaf to leaf and squeeze us when they want money. There is a law against profiting from service fees but as you would expect, the government ignores it.
