I've been a member of the Ontario PC's since 1984. I also joined the Canadian PC's in 1984. I became a member of the Reform party in 1991 and stayed with the party through its transformation to Alliance and finally, the Conservative party.

Right On! Walter. Though my conservative history is not as extensive as yours, I did join the Reform Party shortly after they attained Federal status and have stuck with the party in its various incarnations ever since. I am proud to be a Conservative Party member, which gives me every right to royally p***ed at them at times, which I do. No party is perfect after all. :canada:

I used to show which party I generally support in my avatar, but I removed it. As a true-blue (oops) Canadian, I didn't want to offend anyone by attempting to influence how people might vote. I also didn't want to risk damaging anyone's health by having them launch into a blood pressure-raising rant on why I would be such a low-level scumbag by having the nerve to vote for that particular party. As a Canadian, my feelings of self-esteem are first and foremost on my mind, and I felt I needed to protect myself from any disparaging comments that might make me feel like I had made a "wrong" choice. I just couldn't take it.

However, just for the record, I will go out on a limb just this once and tell you that I actually voted for our Conservative candidate in the last election. And she won. Which means she's part of the current government.

Sorry, I was hesitant to say that but as a Canadian, I felt it only fair to disclose this information in the hopes that my sense of conscious would be appeased.

Oh dear, now I'm in a personal situation of conflict between my conscience and my sense of self-esteem...

Nonsense. You either stand for something or you don't. You do.

Removing the party designation from your Avatar matters not. Those of us who appreciate you on this forum already have a pretty good handle on where your party affiliations lie.

Ater all, the common sense that is mentioned often in your posts, is not nor will it ever be, IMHO, a trait of the left. If it ever was a liberal trait, it was abandoned awhile ago.

IMVHO. :smile::smile:
