Well, there really is no "best", eh; jist what ya like the most.
I know that if I could sing like any of em I wouldn't be doin this here typin just about now, eh?
Don, like most C & W singers came up hard, and did countless jobs and odd jobs to keep body and soul together while he travelled on the road (damn, that's a hard life, or was), trying to build up a fan base. He made it, and good for him. Right on about middle of the road, balladeer. I have a lot of respect for a guy who makes it on talent, and doesn't have to be an "outlaw" or whatnot to get folks to listen to him/her.
Funny thing; check out CD Baby, and a bunch more sites. There is an enormous amount of talent out there, selling their CD's on the road and on the web, and most of em will be good bar bands, and thats the end of it.......too bad.
Well, I gotta go get drunk, tune my gitar, try to live some tunes, go down town and busk till john law chucks me in the cooler. Hope they don bust my E string this time.... Dang them cops is strong, all big and hairy............then there's the men cops.....jeebus!!!
