I used to read just about everything. Had something like 15,000 books in my library. Down to about 3 or 4 hundred now. Only time I can read is when I'm vertical, asleep within 5 minutes or a paragraph (whichever comes first) if I try reading when horizontal. :D

Cool. I started writing joined script at about that age. Printing before that. Got chastised for writing joined letters in the first couple grades even though it was legible textbook script. First books were Collier's encyclopedia (I prefer E. Britannica now), Tarzan, Black Beauty, and a few others.

My first encyclopedias were world books Red binding but the later versions were brown. My Grandpa was the one that taught me about books. I was always asking questions (when I wasnt mothering all the kids LOL ) Grandpa was a dairy worker and a half breed. firey red hair and a quiet man. But when I asked about hummingbirds or crows he'd bring out the red book and Id climb in his lap. Gramdpa was the perfect man. He loved me for being me and he wasnt afraid to say "I dont now lets look that up" He set the bar high in my life. No man has hit the mark yet. That was a nice memory.....Thank You :)

I was potty trained with Dick and Jane at age 2 (ha):p Every couple of years I sell a lot of my books back to the used book shop. Last time I took 300 lbs of books. When I move the biggest and heaviest things to go are my library.

Back to the subject of reading material, I've just finished Roald Dahl's "the wonderful story of Henry Sugar and five more", it's a fabulous read, it's got so many layers to it...I'm mainly a big fan cus it's just got me an A* in my English assignment.

Every other pupil was chuffed with their B's or C's, they said "Darren, what did you get?"......oh an A*!!!.

Have you ever tried cooking Grits Tam?...I never ate them over the pond, but I hear they are an aquired taste.....I did eat duck Gizzerds in Memphis though.

I LOVED English class I always got A's. My teachers always ignored my spelling and puncuation because my content was so above my age. Meds and age screwed that up lol

I'll see if I cant get it at the library. Joshua and the Alchemist are like that too. Like an onion you peel one layer theres another. Theres another book I forgot.....Call Me Ishmeal.......forgot the author........TOTALLY amazing!

Grits......LOL theyre in the cabinet LOL I can make them a million ways but plain (yuk) The texture is just like the name.....gritty LOL
