Any interrogation that a prisoner does not want to answer is considered torture.

Torture is a way of getting specific information from hardened resistance fighters who want to destroy your family.

Some people have said that eating the prison food is torture.

If a group of people kidnaps your little girl and one of those people is caught you would condone torture to get your little girl back anybody that denies this, is a liar.

If you did not have torture of a threat of torture then crime would be rampant in society.

Torture is part of an arsenal of deterrents to keep you safe and make a person who is about to commit a crime think twice.

Sometimes wrong or innocent people are caught and tortured and this is what most people worry about.

Unfortunately this is the cost of keeping people safe and the government should financially compensate the innocent then they would be more diligent on catch legitimate suspects.

Once any form of torture is taken out of the equation of integration then you might as well kiss your society goodbye and learn to live in a violent society.

WOW that is an odd viewpoint man!!

I swear I don't "behave" and treat others well out of fear of torture, I'm havin a hard time wrappin my head around your post, maybe it's the damn green tea :D

As far sa the issue goes- I have ome serious reservations about rounding folks up for someone else. Knowing that the current "government" in Afghanistan is basically a formalized version of the warlord rule the country has "enjoyed" for centuries makes it even less palatable

The way it is set up now, it sure as HELL looks like WE are going to do the dirty work for what for all intents and purposes is a gang of thugs. THAT is not "Canadian" to my way of thinking.

If we can't make sure people are being treated to our standards, we have no business rounding them up in the first place- "wrong place, wrong time" is NOT enough justification to imprison folks, certainly not enough to torture and/or kill them. Hell, I have a pretty strong feeling that much of the alleged torture is probably some sort of centuries old revenge- again, NOT something we should be participating in at all, much less something we should be "proud" of according to the official line

I'm sure I'm not "supporting the troops" with my sentiments, but if "support" means sending them to deliver detainees of questionable guilt over to "officials" of questionable motive, I am afraid I must withhold "support" of any kind
