Canada is at a cross-roads.

RESPONSE: Canada is road-kill at the cross-roads. The political will of our people can be usurped by backroom deals. Our moral compass can be confused by propaganda spewing from media. Our institutions can be bent to serve private interest over public good. And we sit back all complacent, completely unaware of the tire tracks on our back.

My moral compass isn't confused by propaganda, because when I feel it is threatened I turn the CBC off.

How about Canada is coming into its own autonomy - spreading its wings - in independence?

I don't see it as road kill as you describe - but a nation which has been linked to too many other powers rather than operating as an individual entity.

Self-described it is many "nots" - not American, not British, not French, not Chinese.....etc.

It hurts being born. I think Canada is being born of its own volition now and separating will take time to get it sorted out.

2 Pages later. At twotoques. I understand that there a lot of French in Canada. But I always felt that in terms and values and economics, etc. Canada was more of a blend between the United States and Great Britain, rather than Great Britain and France.

RE: Describe Canada in a

A dellusional country that tries to sum things up as right and wrong, left and right, stuck in neutral, and can't decide whether to go forward or throw it in reverse, with America in the back seat yelling reverse at the top of it's lungs.

Canada is the only nation in the world where one can spend $19.99CAD on Speaker's Choice Maple Syrup from the House of Commons Boutique in Ottawa; and only a 375mL bottle, at that!

LOL about the maple syrup there. Here in Scotland you can go to the supermarkets and buy what is supposed to be 'Canadian maple syrup' but its not actually made in Canada (I think its made somewhere in the EU.) Interesting ...

No, you're wrong in the Americans against Canadians thread and you're wrong in this one too. That's more than the total number of people in the Americas.

Thank you for helping dispell the myth that only Americans suck at geography.
