Deciding victory is up to God, in the past and future

God brings the sun to rise in the east, and He sends the rain from the sky and controls life and death.
God gave Pharaoh authority, power, and wealth.
God granted sovereignty to Nemrod who was king contemporary to Prophet Abraham.

God Almighty allowed wars so that idolaters and associators would suffer.
He allowed Jews to divide and make wars among themselves making great slaughters.
He set Christians against each other and devastating wars occurred among themselves.
God allowed Muslims to fall into conflicts and wars among themselves.
He set Christians against Jews to humiliate them, and set Christians on Muslims, and set Muslims against Jews and set Jews against Muslims, and set Mogol and Tatar and Crusades on Muslims, and at present time, He set Jews against Muslims.

Quran 30: 1-7, which mean:
(1. Alif, Lam, Miem.

2. The Greeks (or Room Byzantines) have been overcome,
3. In the land [of Palestine] nearer [to you]; but they, even after being defeated, will be victorious,
4. Within a few years; [for] the determination [of victory] is up to God, both before and after [the Greeks triumph;] on that day the believers will rejoice,
5. In the help of God; He helps whomsoever He pleases; [for] He is the All-Mighty, the Most Wise.
6. [That] is the promise of God; [and] God never breaks His promise, but most people do not know.
7. They [only] know some of the outer appearance of the life of this World, but about the Hereafter they are heedless.)

Explanation of some of God's wisdom:
God gave Pharaoh authority, power, and wealth--- to rule people with justice and kindness, but he became a tyrant; and God Almighty set him on the Israelites to humiliate and torture them, because they fell into idolatry before the coming of Moses.

God Almighty allowed wars so that idolaters and associators would suffer --- which is one kind of punishment for the idolaters and those associating partners with God, and the wrongdoers.

He allowed Jews to divide and make wars among themselves making great slaughters --- because they fell into idolatry and associating others with God in the worship, and because their hearts became so hard, and were wrongdoers.
Their Hearts Were Hardened

He set Christians against each other and devastating wars occurred among themselves --- because they neglected some of God's commadments, and fell into idolatry and associated Jesus Christ with God in the worship.

Quran 2: 253, which means:
(Had God willed, they would not have fought each other, but God does whatever He wills.)

God allowed Muslims to fall into conflicts and wars among themselves --- because most Muslims fell into the idolatry of sanctifying the tombs of their imams and leaders in addition to their wrongdoing against each other.
For this reason, He set on them their enemies, even though these enemies were idolaters, atheists and wrongdoers.

However, this situation is only temporary, and things will change when Muslims regain their wisdom and devote their religion to God alone, as the first word in Islam is

No god but God alone without associate, patron, or son​
