The latest appears to be Richard Jacobson, 21, who died when he fell off a cliff at Lost Dutchman State Park in Arizona, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office told PEOPLE.

Jacobson’s body was found at the bottom of Flatiron Peak.

Someone hiking with Jacobson called 911 on Monday and his body was found about 700 feet from where he slipped while trying to take a photo, the report said.

“The reporting party stated he and his friend were camping on top of Flat Iron when his friend went to the edge to take a photo and slipped,” the office told PEOPLE.

A helicopter from the Arizona Department of Public Safety helped in the recovery effort. No other details about the incident have been released.

The 48-year-old man died while parachuting from the 23-storey San Diego Palisade UTC apartment building while his 16-year-old daughter was at the top of the highrise, reported the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Authorities turned up at the scene after a caller reported hearing a loud pop and saw a victim bleeding on the ground.

“It’s not just one life lost, it’s another that is completely devastated,” San Diego Police Capt. Scott Wahl told the Union-Tribune. “Our heart goes out to her and the rest of his family.”

Wahl told KGTV: “We’re unclear as to whether the parachute malfunctioned or if it just didn’t have enough time to open properly and deploy. But ultimately this person ended up hitting the ground and dying there.”

The deceased was an experienced BASE jumper but it wasn’t known how he got to the top of the building, Wahl told KSWB.

Police said his daughter was taken to the hospital afterwards for observation.

“As a father of four kids, I can’t imagine the devastation that this family is going through,” Wahl told KGTV.

BASE jumpers, those who jump off static objects as opposed to out of airplanes, can be criminally charged.

“It is a crime to jump off the top of a building like that, for obvious reasons,” Wahl told KGTV.

Male bison (called bulls) weigh up to 2,000 pounds and stand 6 feet tall, while females (called cows) weigh up to 1,000 pounds and reach a height of 4-5 feet. Bison calves weigh 30-70 pounds at birth.

Bison are not friendly. They may approach you because they are accustomed to seeing humans and they are curious. Do not mistake their curiosity for affection. Shame that woman didn’t have Google.

Dead woman in gator’s jaws earlier charged with trespassing on wetland
Author of the article:Eddie Chau
Published Oct 01, 2023 • Last updated 1 day ago • 1 minute read

A Florida woman who wouldn’t stay away from wetlands paid the ultimate price with her life.

The body of 41-year-old Sabrina Peckham was found clutched in the jaws of a 4.2-metre alligator as it carried her down a canal along a residential street in Largo, Fla., on Sept. 22.

According to Pinellas County cops, Peckham was caught and charged with trespassing on a county wetland on July 14, almost a kilometre from where her body was discovered, the New York Post reported.

She pleaded no contest to the misdemeanour, was fined $500, and released from custody on Sept. 8.

It’s not known where Peckham was in the weeks leading up to her death.

Police are still trying to piece together on how Peckham was killed by the large reptile.

Authorities were contacted after a witness saw the large male gator carrying Peckham’s body. Cops say the alligator was killed humanely, while neighbours claimed it was pulled from the water and shot several times, the Post reported.

The neighbourhood where Peckham was found is near Ridgecrest Park, which encompasses a five-acre lake inhabited by alligators.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up to cover Peckham’s funeral and burial costs. It has raised more than $14,000 so far.

Man, 18, standing with head out of sunroof dies after hitting parkade beam at West Edmonton Mall
The driver of the car, a 17-year-old boy, and the other passenger, a 15-year-old girl, were uninjured

Police say an 18-year-old man is dead after colliding with a parkade beam while standing with his head out of a sunroof of a moving vehicle.

A news release said police were called about 1:45 p.m. Thursday for a welfare check to the north parkade at West Edmonton Mall.

“It was reported to police that a Toyota Camry sedan was travelling through the parkade when an adult male passenger stood up through the sunroof of the sedan,” the release said.

“As the vehicle was passing underneath a ramp, the passenger struck a concrete beam.”

Emergency medical services took the 18-year-old to hospital, but he died from his injuries. The driver of the car, a 17-year-old boy, and the other passenger, a 15-year-old girl, were uninjured.

Police said speed and impaired driving are not believed to be factors and are asking any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to call them at 780-423-4567, or #377 from a mobile phone.

Uxbridge teen heralded as life-saving hero in wake of her tragic death

In life, Lillian Bennett dreamed of one day becoming a doctor to help save lives.

In death, the 17-year-old Uxbridge girl is responsible for saving the lives of at least six females, ranging from younger than her to middle aged.

It’s a tragedy and miracle in the same story.

There is never anything anybody can do to help a family suffering through the death of a child. And Lillian being killed in a parking lot at 335 Main St., in Uxbridge, while on a skateboard is every parent’s worst nightmare because this was a teenager being a teenager.

But now there is word that in the four days since she was run over after falling off her skateboard while holding on to a pickup truck on Sept. 22 and her death in hospital four days later, Lillian’s organs were donated to six people on the donor’s list.

“Lillian lived her life true to herself and was always thinking of others,” states a GoFundMe effort posted by family friend Tracee Sheldrake. “Ever since she was a little girl, she wished and planned to become an orthopedic surgeon.”

While that can no longer happen, she did give the ultimate gift to others who will now get to chase their own dreams.

“For a young lady who always dreamt of helping other people, this unfair tragedy has only shifted her goal in the way in which she is doing so,” the GoFundMe states. “On September 27th she (was) honoured with the “Trillium Gift of Life Hero Walk” as she selflessly offers her beautiful and amazing act of kindness to save so many girls lives.”

If anybody ever earned this hero’s honour, it’s Lillian.

“Lillian was a vibrant, amazing young lady and has not only save numerous lives but allowed for future generations,” Sheldrake told the Toronto Sun.” Its extremely extraordinary and rare.”

“We are starting to learn about the recipients and looking for ways to spread awareness about being an organ donor,” she added.

Check out this list of recipients whose lives Lillian saved:

♦ Lungs: To a woman in her 20s

♦ Kidney: A 12-year-old girl

♦ Kidney: a teenaged girl

♦ Liver: a middle-aged woman

♦ Pancreas: a teenaged girl

♦ Heart: a middle-aged woman

It’s a horrible story but some positives came out of it.

“Lillian is now the world to those girls and their families,” said the GoFundme. “The Bennett family is always the first to offer help to anyone in need. They will be so thankful for your support during this impossible time.”

There’s just nothing anyone can say to them to make this better – other than pointing out their loved one saved so many others.

Meanwhile, as the Toronto Sun’s Chris Doucette reported earlier this week, Durham Regional Police are still investigating this tragedy.

“Witnesses report that the young female was skateboarding behind a silver Dodge Pickup truck while holding onto the rear side of it, near the wheel,” police said in a news release. “She lost her balance and fell to the ground; at which time she was run over by the truck.”

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene but police are still asking anyone with information about this incident to call Det.-Const. Dalgetty at 905-579-1520, ext. 5217.

In the sadness, there are lessons to be learned for young people.

It goes without saying, no one should ever participate in dangerous stunts with moving vehicles. The results can too easily end up being deadly.

Young people, or people of any age, can make decisions that result in their untimely death. But they can also make decisions that result in others getting to live. This is the bittersweet reality of much-loved teenager Lillian Bennett.

Lillian made the decision before her death to ensure she could save others.

“When Lillian got her G1 licence, she signed up to be an organ donor,” police explained.

There are now six people and their families who will be forever thankful that she made this decision. And a wonderful Uxbridge family, while grief-stricken, will always know their beautiful Lillian is still helping others to live.
