How is Elizabeth II responsible for the low GDP per capita rate on the islands?
I mean, she's hardly done any harm to the Canadian or British GDP per capita, so why would she be affecting the GDP per capita rate on those islands?
I didn't say slavery exists. I said your statements show that is how you think of them. You're the one who said they shouldn't have the right to vote on whether to be Canadian or British. No right to determine one's own future is slavery.

Well they SHOULDN'T have the right to vote on whether to be British or Canadian. Why should the British willingly allow chunks of their territory to be ceded to another nation?
I'm afraid I don't listen to the Pope. I'm not Catholic and he doesn't speak for me. The only time I show any interest in the Pope is when we burn effigies of him on top of bonfires every Guy Fawkes Night.
I especially don't listen to an ARGIE pope prattling about about the Falklands.

That's like saying I wish to keep the people of Norfolk or Surrey enslaved because I don't want them to be giving a referendum of whether or not they want to remain British.
They are British citizens in British territory. Why should Britain give them the chance to stop being British?
Why are these people more precious to you than Scots? Without the Scots and their engineering, there would be no Britain or Commonwealth.

Because, unlike the Scots, the Turks and Caicos Islanders don't live in a perpetually Communist, subsidy junky country sucking the British Treasury dry.
And, remember, the greatest engineer that's ever lived was Isambard Kingdom Brunel. And he was an Englishman, not a Scot. It was an Englishman who built many of Britain great railways, bridges and tunnels, not a Scot.
You are projecting again. Just because you have so little self confidence doesn't mean that is what we Canadians are like. We can take no for an answer. It's just another word, and if T&C doesn't want to take us up on our offer, that is just fine. Unlike you, we won't pull a hissy fit.
