Well this may be a COVID thread as you call it, or not.
It's a wake up call to the United States, Canada and Europe's dependency on China.

Folks are starting to realize that China right now can fukk us up. Basically kill us by withholding drugs and has threatened it.
It's time for countries to bring home our manufacturing and cut ties with China.

Trump says he's seen evidence coronavirus came from Chinese lab. US intelligence agencies say it was not man-made
Scientists all believe the virus was created naturally. Trump has recommended Americans take Hydroxychloroquine which is a drug used to treat malaria. Then he suggested a cheaper cure would be ingesting disinfectants, bleach, Lysol and Clorox and exposing the insides to UV light to kill the virus. Now he wants FDA to approve Remdesivir which is a drug used to treat Ebola. So according to Trump Americans are suffering from a combination of Malaria, Ebola and dirty insides. The WHO identified the virus as CoVid 19. But no new cases have been found in China. Does Trump owe China an apology?

No one believes China's low pandemic numbers. It took the world a long time before they accepted China's high trade numbers. But China will live with the low numbers and doubts even though it is less enviable than America and Europe reporting high numbers and dying from it.
Stands to reason if they are going to heaven they might as well be honest about their numbers.
