The monarchy should be improved to incorporate the advantages of a republic while retaining the advantages of a monarchy. It is much easier to graft the advantages of a republic onto a monarchy than vice versa.

For example, I could see us exploring the possibility of an elective monarchy.

meh I would rather have a more direct democracy as I keep mentioning. Every voter can get access to a iPad, library computer, net cafe computer, Mac, or whatever so there is a way for each voter to vote in referendums.
Representative democracy is a sad joke. It is why we keep ending up with duds like Martin, Harper, etc. and why the fed is a gargantuan waste of taxpayers' money.

Or when she decides to use one of the powers she has under the royal prerogative, such as dissolving the Canadian parliament; sacking a Canadian PM; calling Canadian elections; forcing Canada to declare war; issuing and withdrawing the Canadian passport to or from an individual or individuals etc etc.

If she ever did that, that would be a reason to get rid of the monarchy. Otherwise, its not worth the cost of change.

If she ever did that, you would see 36,000,000 bare bums waggling in your direction across the North Atlantic.
