Re: Cindy Sheehan ... More of Her Lunacy ... Pleads Not Guil
Lets not forget Cosmo, every parent cares about the welfare of their child. However as the child gets older and becomes independant, there comes a time when a parent needs to have pride towards his/her child's achievements and respect their wishes.
In this case, miss Sheehan should be proud of her late son's sacrifice and acheivements. It was his choice to sign on to fight the war on terror, not his mom's. No one told him to sign up. He voluntarily enlisted in the armed forces, wanting to serve his country. It was his job to fight a war, so what is her hangup?

That is why Cindy et Al are extreme fringe elements not representative of the mainstream society here. Thinking only about themselves and not about the consequences of their actions on our brave troops who are fighting a war.
Patriotism is still very high here in the US. That is why Cindy and her few followers are cast aside as unpatriotic troublemakers.
I don't get it, Nascar. How could a parent put a questionable cause above the welfare of their child???? If a parent put their kid in harm's way under any other circumstance, they'd be vilified.
Sounds like some weird brainwashing to me. "Give me your kids to kill and be killed all in the name of my cause." Yet no one gets to say whether they think the cause is just or not. Bush decided to move ahead with his "shock and awe" on some pretty shakey principles and the parents are supposed to offer up their young without protest? We look back at ancient civilizations who sacrificed children to gods and deem them savage. I really don't see the difference here.
