I dont know. Depending on how it went down it may not be a bad way to go. He probably wasn't aware of a thing if he really was asleep. Its sad that he went as young as he was and so abruptly but there are far worse ways to go.

From his perspective, ifn' you've got to go, this wouldn't be the worst way. I was thinking more of those left behind. Not that anyone left behind has an easier time with any manner of death. I think his partner is going to be feeling all kinds of horrible thoughts, regrets, guilt for not preventing it.

ha, one person doesnt prove your rule. Also he was with one partner for the past 27 years. Thats most of his life. And look at the pictures. He looks a hell of a lot younger than 49. I would have guessed late 30s. He seemed to be taking pretty good care of himself. Hard to keep that appearance up if your're a drug addict, alcoholic or suffering from AIDS or some other illness.

Plenty of heterosexuals have dropped dead abruptly far younger. My grandfather did at 47. A person I went to high school with did so at age 23. Both heterosexual.

The monogamous homosexual relationship is a complete myth. The homosexual relationship comprises little more than sharing rent or a mortgage... without any expectation or reality of fidelity. Most simply continue on with the promiscuous lives they led prior to moving in together.

Of course that's no surprise in a condition that represents nothing more than a proximity of two solitudes, and alliance to compensate for the emptiness, misery and futility that characterises the homosexual life.. and bears no resemblance to a real co-operative heterosexual marriage.

The statistics i stated represent a broad representative sample, from which certain conclusions can be reached. And that is that the lifestyle itself.. not extraneous or accidental coincidences, is directly responsible for lowering life expectancy by 20 to 30 years for a practicing homosexual male.

It's a sad statistical fact that few practicing homosexuals live into their 50s or 60s. Life expectancy is 20 years less than that of heterosexuals.
It may be statistical, but it is becoming less and less factual. Most of the reason that homosexuals have lived shorter spans in the past were due to trauma inflicted (both mental and physical) by bigoted and wilfully ignorant folks. Folks of this nature are dwindling in numbers, fortunately, as Inquisitors seem to find societies difficult to exist in, with the exception of a few eastern cultures such as the Pakistani, al-Qaida, etc.

The worst enemy of a homosexual is the the culture of affirmation, complacence, celebration of something that will cause so much misery and disarray in their lives.. and end it in their 40s.

I don't consider that bigotry.. that just a statement of facts.. and acknowledgement of Free Will that homosexuals have in remedying their predicament.. by leaving it behind. There is nothing natural or inevitable about the pathology.

I'm a far more authentic friend to those caught up in this dilemma than their enablers and facilitators. They have all the legitimacy of those who enable and provide excuses for addicts and alcoholics.. to their great long term distress.
Attaboy (attagirl?), leap to incredible and devoid of fact load of assumptions. It is amusing at times.

It's informed by faith.. and by reason.

Try to create a vibrant, peaceful and productive culture without those. That's what we're attempting in the West.. replacing it with empty, maudlin sentiment, superstition and an ideology relativism and gratification.. and it is failing catastrophically.
Faith; the belief that whatever one believes in to be correct and accurate, actually is correct and accurate. Reason by human standards, relies on being informed with as much fact as is possible. Sorry, but you fail in regards to the latter.
At least one of the reasons culture is failing is because of corporate governance, governmental crony capitalism, and the loss of adherence to solid principles.
Superstition? You mean such as in Christianity and other cults?

You should really break free of your dependence upon your religiously zealous parents and check out the real world sometime. lol
