There's no hogwash about it.
My point was simply that there is no onus to make any concessions whatsoever with free trade.
With fair trade you can at least have two countries agree to some terms beyond the simple economics of the items being traded.
In fact, there is nothing stopping the 'richer' country from sweetening the deal if the poorer country agreed to increase wages by a mutually agreed amount.

Libertarians are dumb.
Who said I'm a libertarian? That I admire some libertarian ideas does not make me a libertarian per se.
If you do not want to trade with China, then what about a common labour market at least. Chinese who come to Canada would still need to respect Canadian labour laws, no?
As for free trade, what would be your agument gainst free trade between self-employed sole traders and worker cooperatives at least? A person can't really abuse itself and a worker cooperative can't really abuse its workers, can they?
Trudeau is out of his mind. A babbling drooling fool. Hopefully a Trump victory will put him on notice that the clock in winding down on his own administration.. which is a faint last gasp of the failed globalist, Free Market agenda of the 70s.. and is on the defensive throughout the West. TPP is going down.. FT with China won't even get off the launch pad.
What should we do about Chinese Christian entrepreneurs who want to work in or do business with Canada?
